New musical talent has spread his wings and is already generating quite a bit of a buzz.
Meet Mr Fly, a piano-playing, guitar- bashing, musical genius from the insect world.
When he's not on stage or throwing up over his own food, he enjoys skateboarding, cycling and flying his kite.
Mr Fly is the unlikely muse of Belgian amateur photographer Nicholas Hendrickx.
Like his near namesake Jimi, the 21-year-old has torn up the rule book in his chosen field.
Nearly all the photographs of Mr Fly, whose first name is Gerald, were taken in Mr Hendrickx's bedroom, using mostly natural light and a small eight megapixel camera.
'I met Gerald Fly in my garden as I was shooting some flowers,' Mr Hendrickx said. 'There he was, staring at me with his big mosaic eyes, begging me for help. I offered him a job as my new model. That night we had a good drink and talked about potential photo shoots.
Surprisingly, he proved himself a lovely pianist and guitar player.'
In reality, Gerald is one of a number of flies which Mr Hendrickx photographs using props. 'It took quite some time. Some flies were great to work with, while others were very frustrating.
Guess it's normal – flies and humans aren't made to work together. Flies are made to annoy us with their buzzing and pooping on stuff.'
In explaining why he chose to put flies in front of the camera, Mr Hendrickx said: 'I guess I just wanted people to enjoy the little things in life and to give them a refreshing view on insect macro-photography.'
He insists most of the shots feature live specimens, but how he gets a bug to read the paper on a deckchair is anyone's guess. As for Gerald, he is reportedly seeking fame with his band The Buzzes, winging it through (very) small venues throughout Europe.
