Dog Dies During Facelift

This is so sad and so unnecessary!

A Chinese man, known only as Mr. Yu, is suing a Beijing animal hospital over the death of his dog.

Don't feel bad for Yu, though, he was the one who sent his dog there for plastic surgery.

This wasn't reconstructive surgery or anything, it was a facelift to make his Tibetan Mastiff more attractive to buyers.
Tibetan Mastiffs are incredibly rare and expensive dogs, with some easily selling well into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Yu said: "The skin of my dog’s head was very flabby, so I wanted to cut part of his forehead and straighten the skin. If my dog looks better, female dog owners will pay a higher price when they want to mate their dog with mine."

Yu owns a Beijing dog farm and is suing for over $140,000 because that's about how much he bought the dog for originally.

So sad a dog had to die just because his owner wasn't happy making a few hundred thousand.

R.I.P. poor doggy.

The Tibetan Mastiff also known as do-khyi (variously translated as "home guard", "door guard", "dog which may be tied", "dog which may be kept"), reflects its use as a guardian of herds, flocks, tents, villages, monasteries, and palaces, much as the old English ban-dog (also meaning tied dog) was a dog tied outside the home as a guardian. However, in nomad camps and in villages, the do-khyi is traditionally allowed to run loose at night. (wikipedia)

kaguwapo na lang iroa, di angay i-plastic surgery.

The name Tibetan mastiff is a misnomer; it is not a true mastiff. The term "mastiff" was used primarily because it meant "large dog". Early Western visitors to Tibet misnamed several of its breeds: The "Tibetan Terrier" is not a terrier and the "Tibetan Spaniel" is not a spaniel. A better name for the dog would be Tibetan mountain dog or, to encompass the land race breed throughout its range, Himalayan mountain dog. (wikipedia)
