In San Francisco, there is three tree lighting events, that I know of: Pier 39, Union Square, and Ghirardelli Square. Last year, I came to meet character friends from Disneyland resort. I was able to get a Polaroid with my favorite classic Disney character, Minnie Mouse. Unfortunately, this year, I arrived too late, and they stopped the line. I never stayed for the tree lighting event, and this year I decided to. I stayed in my spot for a good 2+ hours, but it was definitely worth it! I saw everything and was really close to the stage. Sadly, I didn't bring my point and shoot camera so all pictures and videos were taken on my iPhone 5. And you know how it goes with night pictures, that's the only thing I regret. Otherwise, it was a great experience and definitely something I am adding to my tradition of things I do with my boyfriend during the holidays besides outdoor ice skating.
