For more than a decade Valencia and Valencianhons bleed due to the dragonian power of Conching Lim and its tentacles. Socio-economic and political progress will only come to Valencia under a free enterprise system not on threat of harassment and suppression.

Will a true blooded Valencianhon rise up and rescue Valencia from its socio-economic and political stagnation?

A 6-in diameter G.I pipeline traverses 4 km from badiang spring all the way to canmanico with the primary purpose to bring cool freash water to the "Mansion" of the Lims. But the entire town has no sufficient supply of potable water. Imagine folks from Nailo, (around 4 kilometers from the Poblacion) has to "look" for potable water in the poblacion? Then, manghagad ang taga-munisipyo nga manguli na mga taga-valencia?

I can understand your feelings, Spider. Corruption, indeed, is a problem in the Philippines. It is a problem in my very own hometown of Valencia. But I am not so displeased with Valencia. As you know our town is one of the richest in Bohol, and for the most part, the town is progressing.

I know Mayor Lim, almost family actually. She's not a bad person, and the administrators and SB members are hard workers in Valencia. My own Tito is the Municipal Civil Registrar, and they are honest, simple people.

Valencia is a shining star in Bohol. One of the well-endowed communities, if everything was so bad as what these posters claim, then why are there progress in expanding the public schools, development of Bajang Springs, expanding the health clinics, etc. The town remains one of the wealthiest municipalities in the entire province, if it was so bad, then poverty would be wide-spread in Valencia. The fact is, it is not. Change must come from the new generation that wish to enact them. And I am very sure the younger generation will do the right thing for our precious Valencia.

And I say this as a Son of Valencia. :)

Unya midagan intawon ang pobreng pamilya sa bata didto sa munisipyo kay mohulam or magpahatod sa ambulance para madala ang bata sa hospital sa tagbilaran. naunsa ka nga ang ilang ambulance way gasolina..wa pod ay driver?

Kaning improvement imo giingon mga facade ra na bay para mosikat ilang name kay tan-awa nang mga building diha imbis valencia ibutang nahimong Lim. unya wala ra kana sa kumigking sa ilang mga nakikik ug nailad because they are in power.

I try to get in contact with relatives as much as possible, given the circumstance. I have not been back to Valencia since 1998 and talk to relatives frequently. I do agree with you that corruption is a problem, not once did I deny that fact. All I am trying to say ,sir, is that the problem will not fix itself, if there is something that the people want done to solve it, then do it. It is easy for them to talk and talk; if they are truly against the current situation and the current administration in Valencia, then they should make it known in the polls.

You dont have to be sorry. Your opinion is very important, and so is mine. The good thing, sir, is that we are discussing this and exchanging words and points of view.

Forgive me lang if I came out rather defensive in my initial post.

The problem in Valencia is not unique. As it is in other towns in Bohol and whole Philipiines, the main culprit here are always the people who buy votes and the people who sell their votes.
As simple as that.

there would have been an honest government kung wa pa sila magpapalit sa ilang voto.

Well said, Ate Anel. The people are as much to blame for acquiescing to the system of vote buying. The moralistic and ethical way to handle this was to have reported corruptive actions to the DILG, or to the Provincial Government. Stand up for yourselves.

With due respect, I understand nga di mo kasulti sa tanang baho kay taga Valencia man mo kagikan.

I agree nga the people are also partly to blame but the biggest sinner is those powerful men and women who drag these poor citizens to connive with them.

Sila man gayod ay nanental kay kon di pa sila mamalit sa boto wa untay dawaton ang mga tawo ug pwede unta sila mobotar kon kinsa gayod ay ilang gusto. Di ba?

well, you can't expect something good from your critics, right? valencianhon pud ko, pero nakaappreciate ko kung unsay nahitabo sa valencia.. na pud mga bati nga mga nilabay pero ato unta pud nang himuong tumbanan para sa kalamboan sa tanan. daghan kaayong critics and LIM family. pero nakapangutana na ba kaha pud sila kung unsay ilang nabuhat para ikalambo sa atong lungsod sa mga lungsuranon? kung naay kakuwang ang LIM family, siguro makatabang ang mga mas maalamanun nga musugyot kung unsa ang mas maayo nga pagdumala sa atong lungsod..

Dili ko taga Valencia kay taga dimiao pero familiar ko kaayo ani nga town kay naa koy mga auntie ug ig-agaw daghan. Ang name nga Valencia hapit na siguro na mapulihan ug Lim town kay hapit tanang building pulos nagtangag sa ngan nga Lim.

With due respect, I understand nga di mo kasulti sa tanang baho kay taga Valencia man mo kagikan.

I agree nga the people are also partly to blame but the biggest sinner is those powerful men and women who drag these poor citizens to connive with them.

Sila man gayod ay nanental kay kon di pa sila mamalit sa boto wa untay dawaton ang mga tawo ug pwede unta sila mobotar kon kinsa gayod ay ilang gusto. Di ba?
