Fire in Ubay
« on: April 15, 2009, 07:05:30 PM »
An early dawn fire on Good Friday razed some 22 establishments along the road leading to the port in Ubay town.

No casualty was reported but unconfirmed report reaching the Chronicle revealed that a spice vendor was intensely apprehensive upon waking up at the height of the blaze and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Don Emillio del Valle Hospital.

The victim, identified as Yuyen Pardillo, more than 50 yrs old, married, was sleeping inside her store at the public market, 100 meters away, more or less, from the fire scene.

The local fire station received the alarm at about 3:45 a.m. and quenched the fire at about 5 a.m., said SFO1 Alexis Asas. Seven fire stations from the different municipalities and a fire track from the Alturas Group of Companies responded.

The fire allegedly started from a store selling fishing needs owned by Bryan Longos, located just off the lighthouse and fronting PPA passenger terminal building.

One Allan Avergonzado, 35, married and cousin of the store owner recounted that shortly after 3 a.m. he noticed thick smoke emanating from a room where an electrical outlet, accordingly, short circuited. That he was able to seek assistance after breaking open the main door a few minutes later.

Bohol Fire Martial Nunilo Asero initially placed the damage at P3 million.

Owners of the gutted establishments include Gerry Rabago, Bryan Lungos, Raul Ibañez, Clara Dalquez, Jackielyn Dalquez, Juliet Perez, Estilita Ceniza, Jone Perez, Charlie Balani, Marites Valleser, Rodora Uy, Nelson Boyles, Orbana Boyles, Agnes Abayabay, Francisco Dupalco, Carmilina Mabalatan, Dolores Mugo, LoveliaH Beronilia, Wowie Betonio, Nene Boyles, Arnel Longos, and Virginia Flores. - The Bohol ChronicleFire

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
