Tubigon First Job Fair

     Labor Regional Director Elias Cayanong made the first jobs fair in Tubigon last July 1 at the town cultural center a significant event to start the celebration-packed month of July.

      The Department of Labor and Employment and the Office of Tubigon Mayor Luna Piezas sponsored the event.

      Cayanong, who represented DOLE Undersecretary for Policy, Program and International Relations Arturo Sodusta Jr., joined DOLE Provincial Head Nelson Cenas, DOLE Consultant Gerry Guidaben, DOLE Cebu Provincial Head Grace Diaz,  OWWA OIC Director May Cordillo, and POEA Director  Evelia Durato.

      The activity started at 8 am with a short program.

      Cebu-based ABS–CBN news team, led by Leo Lastimosa had a full coverage of the event.

      The guests list also included Sangguniang Bayan members and department heads of the municipal government.

      Tubigon PESO Manager Marie Quider and PESO managers from the neighboring towns of Calape, Sierra-Bullones, Corella, Pilar assisted job seekers in matching their credentials with the qualifications that the agencies had set for the personnel they wanted to hire.

      Applicants were required to register first at the registration booth before they proceeded on presenting their credentials to representatives of companies.

      There were also applicants from neighboring towns who came to join the jobs fair as it was not limited to constituents of Tubigon only.

      That’s why it was published in local papers and announced through ABS–CBN.

      Overseas and local agencies who participated the activity included the Mother’s Way Overseas Manpower, LEXUS Incorporated Quezon City, AL-ALAMIA International Manpower Services Inc, EMERALD International Manpower Services Corp, GRAND PLACEMENT, MIP International Manpower Services, AL- CARE Manpower Services Corporation, GBMLT Manpower Services Inc., MORI International Agency Corp., JEMSTON Global Agency, IQUEST International Manpower, IUPP–Incorporated, MML–Recruitment Services Inc., Lite Shipping Corporation, Alturas Supermarket Corporation, Bohol Quality Corporation, MaryWood’s Manpower and Recruitment Services, and Mitsumi of Danao City in Cebu province.

      Among the applicants, three were hired on the spot by MML–Recruitment Services Inc. - -Cherry Lapiz and Arlene Caduyao of Tubigon, and Leonora Codiñera of Calape.

      Other applicants who were hired by other agencies still have to submit more documents. (Ghaya Astronomo – Castillo/MPIO-designate)
