interesting.  i researched on the veracity of this claim and found out that these names of great kings in history were how the french call the kings in their deck of cards way back from the 15th century.  meanwhile, before their european evolution, playing cards were already in china in the 9th century.

interesting. julius caesar was not a king tho, he declared he was dictator for life. his grandnephew, however, Octavian, was made the first Emperor of the Roman Empire under the titular name of Augustus Caesar.
