Post modernist evangelical churches that relate this number to heads of churches are too accusatory. It is evident that the number 666 was in reference to the Emperor of Rome at the time of the great Christian purges. He was Nero, the last member of the Julio-Claudian Dynasty of Rome.

Again, there are post modern churches that make reference to Rome being the new Babylon, then referring to America as the new Babylon etc etc. It changes with the times and with the interest of that church's pulpit.

This is a result of improper guidance and misinterpretation of Sacred Scripture, which itself was written and organized by the Holy Roman Catholic Church.
