What to bring and to do on the plane
« on: June 20, 2007, 04:47:50 AM »
Long flight can be so tiring and boring, now if you plan it right (somewhat) things could get better for you on the plane ...

Things to bring and do while on the plane.

(1) Books/brochures about the country you are to visit.  When I went to France for the first time 2 years ago I bought a travel guide book about France, specifically Paris.  Before buying a guide book browse through several pages from beginning, middle and end to verify that your point-of-interest are listed.

(2) Maps - It is crucial that you buy a map of the city and pin point exactly all the places you wanted to visit ahead of time.  If you're like me, I use point of interest or landmark to determined where I am in case I gets lost.

(3) Since you have nothing else to do, try to learn several phrases like "Hello, in Spanish is "Hola"."

(4) Forget the playing cards game, it's too bulky and heavy (every space and weight counts when traveling). Bring your electronic games or I have an HP IPAQ, a handheld pocket PC contains several games that I like, Notes I kept about my destination, listen to my favorite music, view photo slides, review my calendar, personal addresses, worldmate includes time zone, currency converter, convert measurements, international dialing prefixes, calculator and many more. All in one small 5' x 3' package.

(5) Magazines, lots and lots of gossip magazines that keeps me interested.

(6) Portable DVD player.  I always bring mine when I travel for my daughter's sake and my sanity.

(7) Believe it or not ... I balance my checkbook during my flight.

( Start writing something, anything about your travel plans.

(9) Ipod.

(10) Go to sleep.  Unfortunately, I am one of those who cannot sleep on planes no matter how long or short the flight is.

(11) Walk around to stretch your body.

Do you have something that is not on the list? ... add yours here.

"That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved."

The Bible. It's nice to reflect on the word of God while gazing at the rolling clouds.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
