Xavier University’s Fr. Jose Ramon “Jett†Villarin recently laid down the time capsule at the grounds of XU to initiate the groundbreaking ceremony for the planned Magis Student Complex. Aside from Fr. Jett, other officials and student leaders of the university also witnessed the event along with the education supervisor of ChEd (Commission on Higer Education), John A Banaynal; Cagayan de Oro City’s vice mayor, Caesar Ian Acenas, as well as Councilor Alden Bacal. The ceremony was held last September 8, 2010.
The main highlight of the ceremony was the laying down of the time capsule, along with a petition written by Malcolm Flores, an Ateneo student and member of the Atenista Ako Movement.
