Sexy Dancing at the Loboc River (the next hubo-hubo?)
« on: August 20, 2007, 12:51:38 AM »
published by The Bohol Chronicle

There is an alarming concern on alleged “desecration” of the Filipino culture with presentation of Loboc-based entertainers at the famous Loboc River Cruise.

The alarm was sounded off by the Bohol Island Tour Guides Association (BITGAP) after conducting a meeting purposely for this concern at the Brewpoint last Thursday.

BITGAP president Danny Nazareno told the Chronicle that DOT accredited tour guides “felt embarrassed on the presentation” which the group described as a wrong direction in entertaining the thousands of guests taking their lunch at the cruise.

Guides described the presentation with ladies wearing kimona with skimpy shorts.  While dancing, they will later on remove their kimona, leaving an undershirt and the skimpy shorts. The music would shift to the contemporary “sexy beat.” Every good-sensed Filipino would be embarrassed by the presentation, the guides commented.

“It projects ignorance of our culture,” which runs counter to that of Bohol as the “home of rich heritage and culture.”

In fact, the presentation done on a platform can be fully viewed by tourists on board the floating restaurants while approaching the scenic Busai Falls.
The presentation amid the backdrop of green vegetation and clean river destroys the image of Bohol as an eco-tour destination, the guides said.

This is a very sensitive issue. It is all about eco-cultural tourism and the presentation is giving a wrong message to the audience/tourist. Regardless of sexual explicitness, they should not wear a western short or any type of western lingerie. They should be consistent to the last detail.

I am not against nudity as long as it's purpose is Art, not lust and as long as it is performed for an audience who seeks for art.

This could affect Bohol's packaging as a tourist destination.

What do we really want Bohol to be projected to the world? From what I've heard, Bohol is supposed to be marketed as a FAMILY-OREINTED tourist destination.

The Provincial Tourism Council, chaired by Mr. Peter Dejaresco, should look into this.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan's Committees on Tourism and Women should also investigate so appropriate ordinances can be passed.

This will affect our tourism branding as "eco-cultural". If no action is taken from our tourism board, soon we will become like Thailand, flooded with pedophiles from all over the world.

This type of tourists who seek for sex tend to travel alone to avoid embarrassment. It represents a limited business opportunity compared to family or group oriented tourists package as GEC has mentioned.

the place is a paradise for the tourists, it is a romantic area, sexy girls you can find anywhere, spaghetti belongs to the plate, otso-otso makes not only tarsier eyes more sparkling and rounder also for the men's ego. Sayang kaajo to disturb the beauty and image of that touristic spots..... am not conservative, had watched striptease or some ki-ay-ki-ay shows too, it is interesting but i think it is out of place. see it sa Dec.

I believed hubo-hubo is not for our kind of tourist because that is not what they came for. They want to escape the noisy city life and experience a new kind of peaceful culture. With such presentation, I am sure tourists feel bored. Rio carnival is the destination for tourists who seek nudity.

Hubo-hubo is for us Pinoys because we have not been to nude beaches or carnivals.

I heared something during my elementary days nga naa kuno nude beach diha sa Pamilacan Island way back 1978. I don't know how true is it.

Hi Macky!

In Pamilacan island? Basin ug gipang-igang sila. Well, hubo-hubo plus paki-kiay is a natural act  for sexual interest to intimate partner but the delimna is doing it for cash and for tourist attraction is a business practised but still in this sacred/paradise place is Pfuiii!!!!!

I went to Pamilacan Island 3 times with my barkadas but we never heard nga may hubo-hubo beach diha, Anyway it was during our college time. Sa Boracay Island I'm sure nga may beach diha nga gi allowed  nga poydi ka mag hubad but it's up to you, pero mostly ang ilang mga guest mga foreigner.

that's why i need you define sexy sa lewd. sexy sa laswa. art sa porno.

the same situation in 2005 when i made a report about prostitution in bohol for kapuso mo, jessica soho. when it was seen on TV, many (especially tje government officials) reacting in all adjective that there is no prostitution in Bohol.

i was even called by mayor dumaluan nga ipausab nako akong statatement that there are no gay prostitutes in roaming in panglao.

i was condemned and labelled by the SP that I was a persona non grata in bohol.

my answer? the report was true. they are all LIARS.

hipokrito!!!   hilas kaayo. in fact, there are government officials who ask for girls sa mga waiters sa hotels para sa ilang mga bisita mga laki.

if wala ang mga prostitutes, kinsa ang atong ihatag? atong ginikanan? atong mga igsoon? pasalamat ta, naa na sila as old as the history of a nation. we could not change them.

then, karun anang issue sa mga baye sa loboc! there is nothing wrong sa mga sexy sa ilang sinina. what's wrong with it? wrong if magpahikap sa mga turista. wrong if magpakayat na sa mga turista or magperform og toro-toro.

ngano man ang mga turista nga muanhi sa bohol unya magpakigol, hapit na maghubo maglakawlakaw or magvergatentya..wala ra man lagi nato?

grabe na pud na nga report, exagerated!!! i went there to see it..BAKAK. they misinterpret it.

then an SP member made a speech about it that even HERSELF WALA GANI KA ADTO MISMO SA LUGAR. SHE BASED HER SPEECH ON HEARSAYS. TAN-AWA?

ang nakasayop s amga tawo, diretso jumped og conclusion, diretso judge dayun  nga maot na. mahinaway dayon.

diretso dayon og comment nga bohol is a tourist destination dapat protektahan nga walay mga prosti, walay mga law-ay.

to tell you honestly, if you will say nga wala na, we are liars.

part of a booming industry, mao nay bayad.

in a asian meeting i attended to, i had some thailand friends who said nga it's true in thailand.. pero when someone will ask them if naa "modeny sila."

hey, wake up. bohol is no longer bohol before. atong hunahunaon mga dato ang mga tawo...unya naa pay values. values nga kahibaw morespeto sa ubang mga tawo ug dili judgmental.

El-Mundo nganong mangasaba kaman diri ha ha ha. We accept nga ang prosti all over the world, pero  diha sa Bohol dili masyado halata, kay wala may nightclub, wala kay makita nga in the public or na-a sa stage nga nag-sayaw walay sinina and panties, not like to the other province or cities in Phil nga ang mga prosti nag-kalat lang sa ilang mga plaza night club etc. nga bisan ug pang cafe lang poydi na sa kanila. Sa ato-a medyo secrito so class parin ang dating diba. Siguro kaila nimo ang mamasang diha sa Bohol ha ha ha peace ....

Hi El Mundo!

Your issue is fascinating and basically in truth. Well. back to the naked tourist foriegners, you must have to consider for it because
it is really their mentality and their purpose to get that Pinoy kayumanggi colors coz they really love it. And it is a shame for them coming back from long vacation from a suuny paradise without getting colors. Yes, in our high society/politicians it is and was always censored and business trips of course all inclusives legalized for reimbursements. Back to my old job here b4, had issued Clearances to 3 ladies and asked them for purpose of issue: "they answered, Ma'am, we are a tago-tago prostitutes"- was schocked and asked them: Who are the clients/customers? Answered: Mga driver sa trysikol Ma'am, unya utangon pa gjod! This is the oldest business in the whole World!.... as long as children are not involved, it is accepted but sorry to say: that the latest are the hit.

Company that year 2000 we have a regional meeting we held in Bohol, Because I was from Bohol ang among head boss nangita ug boholana and he ask me if I can give him a nice one. I know nga there is some female students nga mag- pa-igo pero mostly na sila taga Mindanao mga short ug allowance.  We went to one of our school and we ask the security guard if he knows somebody nga mag-pa-igo. Sabi sa guard naay daghan sir ang he give us 3 telephone number sabi nya pili lang ka sir kung kinsa imong gusto ana.

If it's already here in Bohol, it should be kept under-wraps, underground, hush-hush  :-X, out-of-sight.
It may be part of the curse of progress but there is no need to expose the kids, the children, the innocents, the virgins (like Ban-alam a.k.a. Ghost) to this kind of trade.

No need to burst the dam if we can still reinforce it with what little is left of our moral values.  :-[
