Digital twin technology set to transform industrial IoT offering simulation and analysis prior to making larger technology investments
NEEDHAM, MASS. (PRWEB) NOVEMBER 14, 2019
The Industrial Internet Consortium
(IIC
) today published the 12th edition of the Journal of Innovation (JoI). The latest issue is designed to provide clarity about digital twins, which Gartner identified as one of the Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends for 2019. The edition covers many aspects of digital twin from its applications to implementation challenges.
“Digital twins are now recognized as the key for realizing Industrial IoT, yet there is still much confusion surrounding it,” said Mark Crawford, IIC Thought Leadership Task Group Co-Chair and Director Standards Strategy, SAP. “The goal of this edition of the JoI is to enable a better understanding of what constitutes a digital twin, how it accelerates the promise of Industrial IoT, how it bridges the digital and physical world, and what considerations implementers must address to realize its full value.”
The Digital Twin edition of the JoI consists of articles contributed by leaders at IIC member organizations:
