Liskula Cohen is a Canadian-born model, best known for her appearances in fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Cleo. When she discovered that a blog called Skanks in NYC, hosted on Google’s Blogger, has been referring to her as “skank” and “old hag,” she decided to press Google to reveal the identity of the blogger through court, and the court has now decided in her favor.

One quote is enough to show the nature of the blog: “How old is this skank? 40 something? She’s a psychotic, lying, whoring, still going to clubs at her age, skank.” However, the blogger’s lawyer argued that these comments are his opinions and hyperbole – trash talk, if you will – but Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Joan Madden decided that “the thrust of the blog is that [Cohen] is a sexually promiscuous woman,” and that Cohen is entitled to sue the blogger for defamation.

This also means that Google will have to reveal the identity of the blogger in question; an important move that will set a precedent for future cases such as this one. The blogger in question has, without a doubt, been very offensive towards Cohen, as can be seen in the above quote. However, as we all know, the internet is full of offensive comments and broad negative statements of all kinds. On the upside, this decision will make people think twice about posting offensive posts and comments about someone, as they’re no longer protected by a shroud of anonymity. On the other hand, it might trigger a flood of similar lawsuits, perhaps for trivial reasons, which can in turn have serious implications on everyone’s online privacy. - Mashable

Web prowlers are taking advantage of the borderless and anonymous nature of the internet to commit acts that are otherwise illegal, such as defamation and libel.

Daghan na kaayo nahitabo na ga suicide tungod aning pangdaut sa internet.  I remember one incident, naa toy gi bully na young lady by her friend.  unya nasuko ang mother and she posted comments in the internet unya iyang gi atake tong ga bully sa iyang anak.  wa tawon ka agwanta ang bully, nag suicide.  gidakop man tong nanay but am not so sure if na priso ba jud to sya.

Raquel, that is so very true and sad at the same time. That there would be individuals like that who are so intent in seeing the hurt and demise of others. Its just best to ignore them and pray for them as that is the only thing we can do. The curse and plot against the good, instead of fighting them with defamation, let us bless them and remind them of God's message to those who are accusatory. As Justice and Revenge is His Right. Leave everything to God. His justice is swift and righteous as the flames he rained down on Sodom and Gamorra. It will catheterize and incinerate all that is wicked before Him. By His Will.

lol! yes i loved Fr. Corapi's personal testimony on how he became a priest. How he was a self-made millionaire, and then how he lost everything, how he lived his life as a homeless vagabond for several years, until that calling hit him.

What's inspiring is how he used his skills as a business man, a people's person and utilizes that in his Priestly Ministry.

He's such a great priest, imho.

His voice thunders our attention, and at the same time, his ministerial examples and daily message is so great, inspiring and thought provoking.

He once said in a program, which i remember piercing my soul, "Christ CARRIED THE CROSS! For him? NO! He carried it for YOU. For ME, For all that would come to pass."

"You think your life is hard? CHRIST DIED FOR YOU! Even before you were born. So think again about giving up on life, we all have our own CROSSES to carry. We should walk with our crosses in the direction of CHRIST."



Glad to know you also listen to Fr. Corapi. I do love to watch EWTN shows and specials from time to time. Specially their Study of the BLESSED WORD.

The most inspiring man that I met in my life was Father Mark Hoffman.
My Catholic College Chaplain.
He was the one that responsible for EVANGELIZING me
He introduced me to Catholic Retreats, religious retreats for men of faith.
I even attended a collegiate conference for men interested in priesthood.

Through him, by the Grace of the HOLY SPIRIT who works through Fr. Hoffman, I was instilled and inspired in the Spirit to finish my Catholic Confirmation.

And through him, I met and was introduced to Bishop Donald Trautman, the Bishop of the Diocese of Erie County, Pennsylvania.

It was an powerful experience. To meet and talk to my Bishop. And most of all, was when he prayed for me, blessing me as I make direction in my life. To enter medicine.

Bishop Trautman once told me, "You know, Albrando, two men in life stand out. A priest and a doctor. One doctors the mind soul, to the blessings and promises of Christ. The other doctors the body and heals it. I pray you make the right decision in your life, my son, what ever it is, always ask blessings and providential guidance from Christ Jesus."

His message to me has stuck to me.

Meeting him, I was re-awakened into the Church.

And the HOLY SPIRIT has been a significant and powerful factor in my life.
