Preparing Inasal / Lechon in Valencia
« on: March 04, 2011, 01:55:55 AM »
I enjoyed observing the preparation of Inasal in the old custom that is done in Valencia.
There is beauty in how the event becomes an attractive spot for people to observe whats going on.
I specifically asked to have the lechon prepared in the traditional way.

Pictures will follow.

Why pay 1000 pesos to have people prepare inasal in a busy street in Tagbilaran City when one can ask one's relatives in Valencia to prepare it , as well as purchase it from relatives? Better to pay for the inasal and ask relatives to prepare it than paying non-related folks 1000 pesos or more.

Plus, where we prepared the inasal in Valencia, it was in the mountains. So bugnaw kaajo. This is something that i cannot find in Tagbilaran, which is so hot and humid due to the overcrowded location and the pollution.

Sa Valencia, prisko kaajo ang air, and bugnaw pa. I was, in the process, met with dozons of relatives and family friends. A gathering, a communal gathering during the lechon preparation process. It was a beautiful experience.

Truly an authentic Filipino, Bol-anon, Valencianhon Experience.
