Bol-anons in Camiguin Island
« on: July 19, 2010, 01:23:40 PM »

Coguita ang apelyido sa akong lola (sister of my grandfather). Ligalig sa dalaga pa.

The island-province of Camiguin is a pear-shaped volcanic island in the northern tip of Mindanao. It is approximately 90 kilometers north of the City of Cagayan de Oro. It is bounded to the north by Bohol Sea, to the west by Macajalar Bay, to the southeast by Gingoog Bay and to the east by Butuan Bay.

The Camiguin culture is a mixture of both Boholano and Cebuano culture. It is very colorful and creative. The people are deeply religious, hospitable and friendly. Cebuano is the major dialect in the Province. However, in the towns of Sagay and Guinsiliban, where most of the indigenous tribes reside, the Kinamiguin dialect is still spoken. Kinamiguin is derived from the Manobo dialect with some mixture of Boholano.

I been there once and I was so fascinated with its beauty and grandeur, a gifted island I think because they have all the amenities courtesy of mother nature, It has Sto. Niño cold spring water, measuring meters  sprouting from the sandy bottom, very cold and makes you shudder to the bones even under the heat of pricking sun. it has Ardent hot spring that soothes, relaxes and rejuvenates  your body and mind, springing at the foot of Mt. Hibok-hibok, the water said to be of medical benefits. It has some waterfalls, one of them I admired most is the "katibawasan falls", the white island, that takes few minutes to travel from mainland (camiguin). these are some of the very fascinating and alluring picturesque/ beauty of Camiguin Island.  Lucky those Boholanos who've had migrated/ settled this place because of its bountiful natural resources.  ;)

(sayang wa jud koy na meet nga bol-anon pag company summer outing namo.. pwerte ra bang layoa from Davao City, once in a blue moon escapade  :D)

sir, flickr is not that good, a better provider would be photobucket.com.

their uploading is more friendly and can allow you to adjust the size of the photos at a whim.

sign up to photobucket.com and upload there.

then you can post here.

Interesting. Perhaps the percentage is even higher in the case of Siquijor?  ???
