Wikileaks documents make Afghanistan war look bad
« on: July 29, 2010, 01:11:29 PM »
Wikileaks, the controversial news site founded by Julian Assange, released 92,000 classified documents containing sensitive details about the war in Afghanistan. The Times, the Guardian, and Der Spiegel were the three newspapers around the world that received these documents from Wikileaks. July 25 was when reports were given by the newspapers on the information received. Now we know that there have been Pakistan operatives that betray the U.S. by taking their cash but still helping the Taliban kill Americans, numerous civilians are being hurt through the war, and the Taliban is, in fact, getting stronger, because of these Wikileaks documents. Top newspapers get Wikileaks info

Officers in the Pentagon and troops within the field make plans depending off of the documents released by Wikileaks. Both the New York Times and the Guardian made it clear that they didn't hurt national security interests with the details they did end up publishing. Gen. James Jones, the U.S. National Security Advisor, explains:

"The United States strongly condemns the disclosure of classified information by individuals and organizations which could put the lives of Americans and our partners at risk, and threaten our national security."

Pakistan intelligence helps Taliban kill?

One document from Wikileaks that the Times published tells of Pakistan operatives helping Al Qaeda kill. The documents show you will find many Pakistani operatives that have refused to discuss matters involving those who attacked near Pakistani border, moved across the frontier, and then went to into Pakistan to be safe, although it is still hard to prove Pakistani operatives having been helping Al Qaeda.

Afghanistan was worse than told

The U.S. government has made the Afghanistan war look much better than the Times, the Guardian, and Der Spiegel have made it look in their articles. Progress has stopped in the war because the Pakistani army is helping the Taliban, the government and police force in Afghanistan are corrupt, and also the Afghanistan army hasn't been loyal. Many people just needed these documents from Wikileaks to show them every little thing they already knew. Although congress and the public are being told otherwise, the Wikileaks documents show that the Afghanistan war has Americans getting in deeper and deeper.

Wikileaks looked at for spying

A previous hacker who turned in Private Bradley Manning, the soldier suspected of handing military secrets to Wikileaks, harshly criticized Wikileaks for releasing the documents. Adrian Lamo told ABC News that he turned Manning in to try and stop the reports from getting to the public. But Lamo said the sheer volume of details released by Wikileaks suggests Manning didn't act alone. Lamo thinks that Manning was hired along with others by Julian Assange as "a personal shopper for classified data."
