Wanted: The top five fugitives in PH

The reward for information leading to the arrests of these fugitives have been raised to P2 million, but the Justice chief says authorities have received no tips lately.

Justice Sec. Leila De Lima expressed dismay over the scarcity of tips, even as she urged the National Bureau of Investigation to ramp up its manhunt.

"Up to this very day, no positive result yet. They remain to be fugitive and it causes so much frustration on our part," reports quoted De Lima saying.

Here are the so-called "Big Five" fugitives:

Jovito Palparan, P2 million. Palparan has been in hinding following his indictment for kidnapping and serious illegal detention of University of the Philippines student activists UP student activists Sherlyn Cadapan and Karen Empeno in 2006. Prior to his retirement from the military in 2006, Palparan was commanding general of the 7th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army in Central Luzon. Ecleo was elected Dinagat Island representative in 2010 but has been dropped from the rolls following his conviction for parricide and three counts of graft.
