PROSTITUTIONS IN TAGBILARAN
« on: August 12, 2007, 11:34:34 AM »
am just a bit shocked that even bohol or tagbilaran especially is tainted with prostitutions! medyo N lessen na ang reputation sa bohol as a very religious province!

Prostitution is as old as history.

There was even one time in the 70's or 80's that they are licensed to operate in Tagbilaran. I even remembered when I was in high school that one complained to inyong alagad why her license is not renewed.

My young mind then was baffled why police enforced closure to Melrose Theater for showing adult movies, while they are giving license to the real one.

Ironically, Mr. Marcojos our elementary teacher told us nga didto pod kuno sa Melrose primerong gisalida ang "The Ten Commandments" starred by Charlston Heston. Samot ka tiguwang.... but you can see my memory is very sharp.

Pagkahuman ug raid sa Melrose, gi abrihan after 1 month.

Puro man kahipokritohan ang atong gobyerno ug publiko in receptiveness towards prostitution.  Am in favor of legalizing prostitution dinhi sa Pinas.

Karon nahibaloan na kaayo kay open man due to tourism.

Sa Saudi Arabia? Somehow I feel shocked in hearing that..i mean I can understand of that being prevalent in a liberal society like The Netherlands, France, UK, Canada and parts of the US....but in the middle east?

Gi-proclaim baya unta to ni Ambeth Ocampo as a "heritage site." Sayang. Wa na ang memories ni Macky. ehehehhe!  ;D

The length of its existence and the reasons some try to justify it will never make prostitution an acceptable thing because it is about selling something that is not supposedly for sale.sex is supposedly holy and the human body is supposedly the temple of God. It just takes political will to rid of it. one LGU just got to check the bar fine record book of each KTV bar. if you really care for the future generation.

the bottomline is dignity.if we value dignity then having sex anytime, anywhere, and with anybody for any reason will be avoided and we solve the problem on population-health-environment, reproductive health.moreover if we value dignity, we, in a way value the sanctity of human body and we unknowingly monitor sex. we have to consider that each commercial sex worker is a positive contributor of abortion cases, transmission of sexually transmitted infection and wrecked home. Most important, Each commercial sex worker is equivalent to one case of human life wasted. So if we talk about population, the problem is not the numbers. it is the quality of life in every number.

if we don't make commercial sex available, then we are gradually teaching each child not to long for it.Sex is just for people who have relationships. and relationships are only for people who are genuinely in love- -no discrimination of genders.Sex is supposedly sacred.

the line of thinking of arlaine is deplorable...

on Saudi scenario, grabe kaayo, basta Filipino ka, the Arabs think na prone or susceptible ka to engage on whatever sexual relationship even it meant taboo for you... kay ngano ang mga uban natong mga kababayan nagpabuyag man...

in tagbilaran, am sure there are a lot of trading in exchange of favors...labina kay inaasenso na ug gamay ang bohol, others don't want to be left out...

There are many to become a prostitute,
not just in the desires of the flesh.
The mind can be prostituted
The lips can be prostituted
The deeds can be prostituted

That's right Junayag.  Men's working!!!!!!

Recently, prostitution is legalized here in Europe for medicare, pension, etc. and some other future benefits. This is mostly in a well known establishments but the numbers of unregistered prostitutes remain a problem.  Global prostitutions is  unstopped  virus but sorry to say, that children are the most victims of this.

The victimless crime.

Some people always hve to tell others what to do.
Jesus didn't get all upset about prostitutes, did he?
He used to have a friend her name was Mary magdeline. He didn't go around telling her she was wrong.
He didn't go around and tell anyone they were wrong.
He did say to someone, "don't tell someone they have a splinter in their eye, when you have a log in your own."
So Jesus thought that it was wrong to go around telling everyone that they are wrong, better to take care of yourself.

Everyone who does not like something says it is wrong, because of something religious.
They are twisting Jesus to fit their ideas

But then again, as long as there are politicians, we will have prostitutes.

Glad that you mentioned that, Franklin, I know that this may be a bit off topic, but isnt this the example of how and why some radical evangelical christians such as the Westboro Baptist Church use scripture to fit their own agenda and twist it to comdemn others?

Btw, I read somewhere that you're a foreigner? Where do you hail from? Pleased to meet you, btw.

Glad to hear your views, Frank, I do agree--btw i'm from Jersey; if you're ever visiting Atlantic City anytime soon--feel free to PM me--i'll show you some good places to get nice clams and oysters.

Back on the topic tho, Im rather split on the topic of prostitution. I know that there are people in this world that use that form of service to provide food and clothing for their family--desperation can lead men and women do do many things. And its great that Franklin mentioned that part in scripture---do not judge lest you be judged---and it is the Lord Our God who will judge us all in the end of times. I say--lend a helping hand to those who need your help. Random acts of kindness--thats what I say.

Frank, it is sick how people use religion as a premise to commit violence---specially seen in these recent bombings in the southern philippines and in the middle east.

When will all of this just end... :(
