An explosion rocked the Philippines Congress on Tuesday in a suspected assassination of a Muslim law maker, that also killed one other person, injured several more and unnerved thecountry's capitol.
Wahal Akabar, who represents the restine southern island of Basilan, died from his injuries in a local hospital after an explosion tore up the southern entrance of The House of representatives, shortly after 8:PM.
It was definitely a bomb or a command detonated explosive, Jose De Venecia,speaker of the lower house floor as he reported to media and over a live national telecast live after the event had taken place.
The police and military put Manila and other provinces North and South of the capitol on "FULL ALERT". They cardon-ed off Congress.
Akbar was a three term governor of Basilan before winning a seat in the House of Representatives this year.
Davencia said if policegive the all -clear the lower house will open as normal on Wednesday.
