Reported By Kit Bagaipo
The Bohol ChronicleNo more "sexy entertainment."
This was the assurance given by Loboc officials and river cruise operators to provincial lawmakers who composed a fact-finding team to investigate into a complaint lodged by tour guides against the reported "cultural desecration" at the Loboc River cruise.
Provincial board members Aster Apalisok-Piollo, Corazon Galbreath, Amalia Tirol and Jose Veloso conducted a hearing at the barangay hall of Jimili-an, Loboc last Friday together with Loboc Vice Mayor Louie Digal and municipal kagawads, tour guides, cruise operators, barangay officials and entertainers.
It was agreed during the hearing that entertainment at the river cruise should conform to eco-cultural tourism.
Instead of three entertainment rafts situated near the river's busai, the board members proposed that only one would be allowed to avoid congestion in the area. The same proposal will be contained in a resolution to be sponsored by the four provincial board members.
SEXY DANCES DENIEDOne of the entertainment raft owners, Fely Casuyac, explained during the hearing that she did not allow her female performers to wear skimpy outfits, as alleged by tour guides.
However, during the first day of their performance in July, she admitted that the performers wore shorts and "spaghetti" blouses but never in their succeeding presentations.
The female performers only wore malong, kimona during cultural dances while they change into casual clothings when they perform modern dances.
Casuyac also denied allegations that she employed two prostitutes in her entertainment raft.
She said the two were just hired as dance instructors to kids who also perform part-time.
She said that Henry Calipusan, a brother of Loboc Mayor Leon Calipusan, is her employee who takes charge of her entertainers.
Calipusan was the subject of a complaint of Merlou Reyes, a tour guide, who alleged she was threatened by the former after she refused to allow her tourists aboard floating restaurants to drop stop by the entertainment raft of Casuyac.
