Ched Chairman Romulo Neri failed to show up during a meeting initiated by a Boholano group, composed of former priests and seminarians in Manila last Sunday.
"Security reason" was cited why Neri could not attend the meeting. But there was no elaboration on said reason.
The meeting pushed through with Rev. Fr. Joseph Biliran, hosting the meeting at his parish convent in Novaliches last Sunday night.
Earlier, it was reported by a highly placed source that Neri could have wanted to "talk or confide" with a group to whom he will be comfortable with considering the burden on him after he has been the subject of a nationwide clamor to "tell the truth."
The meeting which lasted up to midnight discussed among other things the issue on why star witness of the ZTE-NBN Broadband deal Jun Lozada has not been supported by the University of Santo Tomas (UST), his former alma mater. The group revealed that Lozada is being questioned by UST authorities for a questionable deal involving the business operation of a parking lot inside the UST campus.
