Is Bohol Ready to Go Big Time?
« on: March 04, 2009, 10:00:13 PM »
With Panglao International Airport reportedly in the works, and the Loon International Cruise Ship Port on the drawing board, is Bohol ready to go BIG?

How do you think will Bohol be changed by direct international access both by air and sea?

Oo nga, mahirap tumalon sa malalaking bagay, kung ang mga maliliit hindi pa ayos. Hanggang ngayon problema pa rin drainage, garbage disposal, access road to Panglao and even within the city... There should be a coherent city plan para the little things will be made to jibe with the big picture.

For me, Bohol is not yet ready to go with the "BIG" transformation. People across all walks of life need to have a kind of "value orientation" to embrace the change the technocrats have envisioned.

Take for example the area of tourism.  If we are serious with our promotion efforts as a new tourim hub of the country, all initiatives provincewide must be geared towards that agenda.  When we speak of orientation, the people must learn the impact of his own individual behavior and attitude vis-a-vis what we intend to achieve.  All sectors must cooperate, there is no point for division.

Kada bata, hamtung o tigulang makaantigo gyod mo-abi abi sa mga bisita (either local tourist or foreign).  Like in the corporate world, even its own staff are considered as internal customers which deserve to be given that quality and customer satisfaction.

There should be a kind of teamwork among families, relatives, neighbors, private institutions and government implementing agencies.  Walang parti-partidos, walang kampo-kampo, dili mosupport kay dili kaalyado, etc.etc.

What probably be given more credence is information campaign province wide, a regular consultation - thereby empowering each town on how they could contribute to overall agenda, that of making Bohol stride to success.

Regards.
Jun

It is with hope that people must not only leave that responsibility or rely to the government officials and the businessmen.  What counts a lot... the total reception of a vision by the people and being done by the people,  Success not only rest on one but through cohesive efforts.

With so many "insular" minds in Bohol, we really need someone like you who could work from the grassroots for cohesive action.
