The City Health Office has raised the warning on the presence of at least five guest relations officers (GRO), tested as positive of sexually transmitted diseases.
These women are working in videoke bars or nightly joints in the city.
Tagbilaran City health officer Dr. Antonio Porticos bared that the five GROs were tested positive for STD during the weekly hygiene and pop smear test regularly conducted by his office.
The blue cards of these workers were revoked and they are not supposed to work in any establishment until cleared by city health authorities.
The warning was aired as recent studies revealed that STD infections are most likely prone to bloom into HIV Acquired Immunity Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) which is spreading in tropical countries like the Philippines and in many Southeast Asian countries like Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam.
