A local distributor of liquefied petroleum products tries to reinvigorate sales by reducing the selling price for every 11-kilogram tank by P22 or a matter of P2 per kilogram after the series of price increases nationwide slowed down the
trade.
Engr. Teofilo Lim, a Gasul distributor in the province, said that his company implemented the rollback staring last Monday through a sort of summer sales promo.
His company now sells Gasul at P1,023 per 11-kilogram tank from the previous price of P1,045.
There has been no advise for price rollback, but Lim's company gambled on the strategy to entice consumers back.
Lim also said he heard in the news that some independent refillers implemented a P1 rollback and the P2 that his company implements already supersedes it.
On another round of rollback by P4 expected next month, Lim said still his company has to wait for the advice from Gasul-main.
According to Lim, the high prices of LPG already affected the sales of Gasul distributors as most consumers have already shifted to using electric stoves.
He also admitted that the
price of Gasul in Bohol is higher in Cebu by almost P5 per kilogram.
