Can-Care Caregiver Training and Development Center has denied any involvement with an illegal recruiter who swindled three of its students by almost P2-million with the promise of employment abroad.

Beautilde Tinio, the administrator of Can-Care, through lawyer Lord Marapao IV issued a statement yesterday that linking the school to swindling suspect Marissa Flores Theiss is creating "baseless and malicious conclusions" that "cast doubt and aspersions" on Can-Care.

In an interview with the Chronicle yesterday, Tinio stressed the school does not allow recruitment activities with their students.

Tinio said that the school administration will fully cooperate with any investigation undertaken by proper authorities to apprehend Thiess.

Three students, one of whom just recently graduated, were promised employment by Theiss in Canada provided they advance her money for their visa and placement.

Theiss, who also enrolled at Can-Care, claimed that her husband is a Canadian and could help them process their application for work.
