Four days of search finally led to the arrest of the three robbery suspects who fled with around P20,000 from a program assistant/collector of Taytay sa Kauswagan Incorporation (TSKI) on June 5 in barangay San Agustin, one of them a minor.

The first to fall was one Bobby Oroyan, a resident of Barangay Magsaysay, this municipality and a CAA member assigned in the municipality of Sikatuna.

The composite team of CAA personnel led by Corporal Antonio Planco, assistant cadet commander and of police officers of Talibon Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters led by SPO3 Rogelio Celopas apprehended Oroyan.

What first caught the attention of the arresting team was the attire of Oroyan which fitted the description on one of the robbers.

It prompted the teams to hold and turn him over to higher headquarter at Camp Rajah Sikatuna, in Carmen pending confirmation of victim as to the suspect’s identity.

Police team recovered from him, a dilapidated .38 revolver loaded with three bullets.

The responding team then contacted the victim and witnesses.

Indeed, when they saw the suspect, they identified that he was one of the perpetrators.

The responding team then brought the suspect to Talibon police station for further investigation.

Oroyan admitted later that he was involved in the robbery together with two cohorts.

Chief of Police PSI Domino Pelecio positioned his men- -SPO4 Restituto Auza, SPO3 Rogelio Cleopas, PO3 Crisanto Bonghanoy, PO3 Cresente Gurrea, PO2 Margarito Cagogo and PO1 Melcuiadito Aventajado- -to conduct an immediate follow-up operation for the arrest of the two other suspects.

The operation resulted to the positive identification of one Joseph Cuizon, also of legal age like Oroyan, single and a resident of Barangay Zamora.

Cuizon voluntarily surrendered to authorities around 11:30 a.m. of June 9, and admitted his participation in the robbery.

He turned over his firearm, an improvised single-shot cal. 5.56 mm pistol and his Nokia 1100 cellphone which he used in his illegal activities.

The other suspect identified later was a minor, who served as lookout and communicated with Oroyan and Cuizon through text during the incident.

The minor was accompanied by his parents when he went to Talibon station to issue his statement.
