By Kit BagaipoCity Mayor Dan Lim flew to the United States yesterday to meet with Boholano boxers now training at the famed Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles.
During his "Mayor's Report" yesterday, Lim said his US trip is mainly to give moral boost to Tagbilaran's very own Czar Amonsot who is set to fight reigning WBA lightweight interim titlist Michael Katsidis on Saturday at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas featuring Bernard Hopkins against Winky Wright for the undisputed light-heavyweight championship.
The mayor will be back before the Amonsot-Katsidis duel, despite a ringside seat reserved for him by Golden Boy Promotions' Oscar dela Hoya, to catch the Sandugo activities over the weekend.
But Lim said his other purpose of going to the US is to negotiate for future big fights in favor of Boholano boxers Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista and AJ "Bazooka" Banal...
