All is set for the 6th IT Quiz Bowl this coming Friday, March 7, at the Island City Mall Activity Center, sponsored by Informatics Computer Institute, where various schools in Bohol are expected to outwit each other in the field of information technology (IT).
Mr. Victoriano Tirol III, Informatics center manager, said with the success of last year's competition participated in by more than 25 schools all over the province, Informatics is holding again the competition in consonance with the earnest desire to hook students to the advancement of information technology, and to foster camaraderie and a healthy spirit amongst students of various schools in Bohol.
"Informatics is exerting efforts to contribute to the government's thrust in promoting IT in the country as well as to assist in the development of our public and private school's capabilities worldwide," Tirol added.
The registration of participation will start at 8 AM at Informatics Computer Institute on the said date, and a bus will transport all the participants to the venue at the Island City Mall Activity Center. To be eligible, the participant must be a bona fide senior high school student of any Department of Education (DepEd)-accredited school and must be of good moral character.
The contest requires knowledge on all facets of information processing system which includes hardware, software, and peopleware, features of Microsoft office applications, computer programming fundamentals, and internet essentials.
The grand champion will receive a trophy, a medal and a full scholarship at Informatics for the first term. The 2nd and 3rd prize winners will each receive a trophy, medal and Informatics scholarships with 50% discount for the former and 20% for the latter, respectively.
