One of the best-known figures of Pinoy rock, Urbandub, will rock the Island City Mall carpark, this coming Saturday night, October 27, with guest band The Ambassadors, a BisRock group behind the hit Gugmang Giatay, Globe Kantabataan 2007 national finalist Suitcase 101 and Estranghero.

The night is the grand finals for this year's ICM Band Challenge. Five Boholano bands will compete. The grand champion for this year's contest will win a recording contract worth P6, 000 courtesy of ICM.

Urbandub is now enjoying their ride away from their hometown Cebu. After producing several singles that are beefed-up with guitars that give a whiff of the group's potential as a hard rock entity, the band has recently released two hard-rocking singles: "Alert the Armory," which has scaled no. 1 at NU 107 for three consecutive weeks and the hit, "First of Summer," which continue to top the charts at Magic 89.9 TM, NU 107 and LS.

The band's recent album, Embrace, made it to 2006 Awit Awards with nominations for Best Album Package. More nominations also include the first ever MYX MUSIC Awards which Urbandub is competing for Favorite Rock Music Video for Alert the Armory.

Urbandub is composed of Gabby Alipe (vocalist/guitarist), Lalay Lim (bassist/vocals), JanJan Mendoza (drummer), and John Dinopol (lead guitarist/vocals).

The bandfest is presented by Island City Mall, co-presented by Tanduay, Pepsi, Norkis Yamaha, ICM Home & Fashion, Bohol Coconut Palms Resort, Soundgarage Studio and Boards & Buckles Adventure Shop.
The Urbandub concert is presented by Pepsi, Tanduay Rhum T5, Norkis Yamaha, Boards & Buckles Adventure Shop, Bohol Coconut Palms Resort, The Prawn Farm and Powermind Concept.

I have to voice what i feel is a legitimate complaint in regards to scheduling concerts during nights that are on the weekend and a just way too much to handle for the local fuzz busters of Tagbilaran City.
These concerts often breed things tat are not good.
These things not good often require polices assistance but the complaint here is the lack of police and everyone wants to complain about Mario uy having a police man as a personal body guard when the employment for police here is down?

When there is a concert taking up police time it just the police ten times longer to respond to a domestic call or a call which could be more serious and lead to homicide if the police do not respond much quicker then the normal 3 hours it takes them to respond to other assistance and emergency calls just because the people attending the concerts are making trouble and using up all the man sources that we currently have here.
ICM should plan their events better and should also be required to pay more incentive pay the city police to always babysit the privately owned business's events?
