Sports for the Blind
« on: January 04, 2011, 06:50:33 PM »
Myanmar held the 7th sports competition for the blind in Yangon Monday to greet the new year 2011, aimed at encouraging and supporting people who unfortunately lose sight.

Organized by the Yangon Education Center for the Blind, over 150 blind students joined the event.

The annual competition comprises 30 sports of which some are specially designed for the blind.

The center also offers academic and vocational training like cane, bamboo handicraft, broom-making, reed-mat weaving, sewing, electric guitar playing and playing of other musical instruments.

The vocational training for the blind also includes skill of Japanese-style massage.

Yangon Education Center for the Blind was founded by Myanmar Christian Fellowship of the Blind (MCFB) in 1989.

Due to its development and progress, MCFB was admitted as a member of the World Blind Union in 1996.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
