The Cebu-PRISAA team is expected to dominate again the Private Schools Atletics Association (Prisaa) regional meet right in their own turf early next month.

Region 7 Prisaa Secretariat head Bernard Ricablanca presided over a solidarity meeting last Jan. 9 to finalize the coming event, which was hosted by Tagblaran City last year.

The defending champion Cebu-Prisaa team is expected to meet stiff opposition from Tagbilaran and Dumaguete in its quest to represent region 7 anew in the national meet in Zamboanga City.  Two other participating teams come from Negros Oriental and Bohol.  The Cebuanos, however, are heavily favored to retain the overall championship.

The Cesafi dancesport, on the other hand, will finally be held on Feb. 8 during the opening of the regional meet at the New Cebu Coliseum.

The competition is open to high school and collegiate dancers who will vie in the standard category.
The high school level is open to all athletes including those who have competed in national and international contests while the collegiate class open only to athletes who have not seen action in any international meet.

The collegiate level is a qualifying event where winners represent Region 7 n the National Prisaa in Zamboanga City this July.

The high school level meanwhile, remains a non-qualifying event, since the National Prisaa is only open to collegiate players.

Defending champion, University of Cebu leads the dancesport class along with University of Souther Philippines Foundation, University of San Carlos, University of the Visayas and University of San Jose-Recoletos.

Meanwhile, Ricablanca clarified football is not a first time event in the annual meet contrary to earlier reports since it already debuted in Tagbilaran City, Bohol last year with Dumaguete City as champion.  Dumaguete eventually placed third in the national final.
