Boholano boxing champ Nonito Donaire Jr. is eyeing Mexican champion Fernando Montiel to be his next foe.
Doanire cited yesterday, "We have unfinished business to settle," during the press conference hosted by GMA Network as a tribute to the boxer who made the country proud by winning over Panamanian Rafael "El Torito" Concepcion last Sunday.
Montiel is a former World Boxing Organization super flyweight champion and is the current WBO Interim bantamweight king. He is slated to fight Jerome Arnould in Mexico on Sept. 12 for the WBO bantamweight title.
Realizing his dream fight with Montiel may happen next year since his promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank promotion is lining up Jorge Arce ashis possible next opponent in December.
"Arce and Montiel are two top Mexican fighters and I really want to face the best fighters to text may God-given ability," said the 26-year-old boxer who is slated to join the GMA television reality show Celebrity Duets. - the Bohol Chronicle
