Manny Pacquiao for Gensan Mayor?
« on: May 06, 2009, 09:25:12 PM »
A Church official has advised boxing star Manny Pacquiao to gun for a mayoral post instead of a congressional seat if ever he pushes through with his plan to run in the May 2010 elections.

Bishop Dinualdo Gutierrez of the Diocese of Marbel said he has heard talks that Pacquiao is planning to run for mayor of General Santos City or as a representative of Saranggani.

"Kung sa mayor pwede siya, pero kung sa congressman mahihirapan siya [He can do better as a mayor but as a congressman, he will have a hard time]," Gutierrez said in an interview with the Church-run Radio Veritas.

Gutierrez explained that Pacquiao still needs to know more about legislation and the law-making process. He, however, said the boxer can still help and serve his constituents even without entering government service. - Philippine Star

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
