The Mabini Basketball team managed by Jun Jayoma and coached by Jun Evangelista, bested the Tagbilaran City team of Coach Dondon Namoc 88 - 78, to capture the championship of the First Tapok-tapok Bol-anon, Inc, Inter-town Basketball Tournament held at the Army Gym, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The tournament is a brainchild of the Tapok-tapok Bol-anon, Inc. President General Charlie "Chay" Holganza, (PA) and supported by his Vice President Gen. Leo Olegario, Ret. (PAF), Adm. Jun (Boy) Sancez, Ret. (PN), the first Commissioner Gideon Miole and his deputy Engr. Pat Manlangit.

The tournament was organized to foster friendship and camaraderie among fellow Boholanos in Metro Manila, and was participated in 7 teams from Tagbilaran City and 6 other teams from Candijay/Cogtong, Candijay/Aeromax, Carmen, Getafe, Guindulman, and Mabini.

Chosen Most Valuable Player was Michael Cabasag of the champion Mabini team and was also named as member of the Mythical Five together with his teammate Jojo Lara, Riel Dolojol and Eric James Acuna of Tagbilaran City and Marlon Salamanca of the Guindulman team, which got the third place.
 
Entertainment was provided during intermission by the Dance Sports quartet from the Rizal Technological University and nine-year old child singer Eureka Amoroto from Ubay town.

Food was also served "Budol Fight" style immediately after the awarding ceremonies at the Army Gym courtesy of the organizing Tapok-tapok Bol-anon, Inc. thru its Treasurer Ms. Edna Ballesteros of Carmen, Bohol Association of Metro Manila Inc. thru Ms. Baby dela Cruz of Loon, and from kindhearted Boholano and non-Boholano supporters and sympathizers. Tapok-tapok Bolanon, Inc. thanked all its members, supporters, contributors and guests who, helped make the first ever inter-town basketball tournament a success.
