Ace shooter Grace Tan bulls eyed her way to win the ladies division of the Intercontinental European Hand Gun Championship held in France.
The tournament, held in Cheval-Blanc, France from Sept. 17-22, was participated in by more than 1,000 shooters from 50 other countries.
Using an STI 9mm race gun fully customized by True Weight gunsmiths, Tan capped her sterling performance by beating World Champion Gabriela Kraushopper of Austria by 45 points.
Overall, including the men's division, Tan wound up 70th.
Tan, who was a bit disappointed that she did not meet her target of finishing in the top 50 overall, was still thankful that she won the gold despite making somecostly errors. She attributed her win to hard work, daily practice and the patience of her coach Jojo Naranjilla.
She also thanked her father, Roland Tan of TrueWeight gunsmiths for crafting the 9mm STI race gun which was perfectly created for her.
After the European win, Tan will now focus her sights on the Asian Intercontinental Championships to be held this December in Thailand in preparation for the World Shoot to be held in Bali, Indonesia next year.
