Virtually unknown Ciso “El Terrible” Morales of Talibon, Bohol, has been reported to see action in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez rematch on March 15 in Las Vegas.

The inclusion of the undefeated young prospect was received through renowned Cebu promoter Sammy “Don King” Gello-ani from Golden Boy Promotions vice president Eric Gomez.

Gello-ani made a stop at Los Angeles in a courtesy call with Golden Boy Promotions Vice President Eric Gomez after his trip in Mexico.

Gomez explained that Gello-ani’s young “El Terrible” Morales will get his US debut in the undercard of Manny’s super fight with Marquez on March 15, 2008 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

“This will be a big break for this young gun. We are excited about this kid, in the amateurs he was the talk of the town when he knocked out Jason Pagara who is also a hot prospect and currently undefeated in the pro’s,” Gello-ani explained.

Meanwhile, the young El Terrible is penciled in by Gello-ani for the vacant WBO Youth junior featherweight title late January in Manila. Gello-ani explained, “I got the OK from WBO Asia Pacific chairman Leon Panoncillo for our tentative schedule on January. We have big plans for this kid, this kid will be another fighter who will make it big in the Philippines and we are with the right promoter Golden Boy Promotions to guide his career.”

According to noted CDN correspondent Salven Lagumbay, the 19-year-old Morales remained undefeated as of Dec. 27.  His pro ring record and coming opponent were not immediately known. Morales won his Cagayan de Oro City on Wednesday via knockout.

Oscar De La Hoya is interested in “taking a look” at undefeated Filipino super bantamweight Ciso Morales who has a record of 9-0 with 6 knockouts.

That’s the word from Golden Boy Promotions vice president and international matchmaker Eric Gomez who told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today they had seen tapes of his fights and they “want to take a first hand look at him.”

In an overseas telephone conversation, Gomez said this is the reason they scheduled Morales, who just turned 20, in a six round preliminary bout on the undercard of the rematch between Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao and WBC super featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez on March 15 at the Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel and Casino.

Gomez said we have “heard good things about the kid so we are going to give him a break and put him on.” However, there’s no opponent for Morales as yet but Golden Boy expects to come up with a suitable foe in the next couple of weeks.

Gomez revealed their philosophy in the US debut of Filipino fighters is to match them against opponents who are “going to test them but at the same time make sure they are not going to be overmatched.”

He noted that some of these fighters are really good but “mentally you don’t know how they are going to react fighting for the first time out of their country. Some can raise the level of their competition and there are other guys who can crumble.”

At the same time Gomez debunked reports that Juanito Rubillar’s IBF mandated eliminator against former WBC light flyweight champion Omar Nino would take place on the Pacquiao-Marquez undercard. He said "I dont know anything about that" echoing what co-promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank said the previous day.
