ACTRESS MERYLL Soriano says ABS-CBN is out to get her father, Willie Revillame, a former talent of the network.

“Ayaw siyang tigilan. To think that all my dad wanted was to spread joy and help people,” she told the Inquirer in a recent interview. “He’s sad because he’s being hindered from doing what he wants to do.”

The Court of Appeals recently granted the request of TV5, which coproduces and airs Revillame’s new game show “Willing Willie,” for a 60-day temporary restraining order in connection with the P127-million copyright infringement suit filed by ABS-CBN.

In October last year, the Kapamilya network went to court to stop the airing of “Willing Willie.”

Data conducted by the AGB Nielsen Media Research shows that “Willing Willie” has been topping weekend ratings. Revillame co-hosts the show with Valenzuela councilor Shalani Soledad.

Meryll herself recently attracted attention with her Best Actress victory at the 37th Brussels International Film Festival (IFF) in Belgium, and her recent inclusion in a Taiwanese independent film production. - PDI
