Abstract:

Consciousness does play an important role in communicating information between professionals in a work setting. In order for employees to learn new methods, new systems to increase work efficiency and collaboration with different departments in an organization, they must have the capacity to understand concepts. This depends on their conscious awareness and conscious learning. De Sousa (2013) conducted a study of consciousness that focused on the neurobiological correlates of consciousness in relation to structures such as the ascending reticular activating system, the amygdala, the cerebellum, the thalamus, the frontoparietal circuits, the prefrontal cortex and the precuneus. These organic studies in relation to the brain and its relation to the human individual’s consciousness is connected with that individual’s ability to learn and to communicate with colleagues.

That said, there are times where individuals will not have an effective way of addressing issues at work because of an aberration in their neurobiological structures. One has to take into consideration the issue of Phineas Gauge, an English man who suffered a trauma to the cerebral cortex and this trauma drastically changed his mood, his consciousness and as a result his relationship with colleagues in the work setting (Macmillan and Lena, 2010).

This paper will set out to conduct a dual quantitative and qualitative analysis of behavioral changes due to cognition changes secondary to stress. The relational changes in work stress and proper biofeedback mechanism is analyzed.
