question:  Why do women like cats for pets more than men do?

Cats are independent, and men want an animal that they can call and it will come running to them. You see, Cats Rule and Dogs Drool.  It's just that simple.

Now, my son, a U.S. Marine, likes cats.  However, he will hold his cat even when she has indicated she wants to be put down.  He also holds her like a baby and ALL cats HATE that.  But, my son loves his cat and the softness of her fur belly.  He doesn't pick her up a lot, so it isn't like he tortures her.  But he doesn't like all that slobbery slobber that dogs drool all over you, or being licked in the face with that slobbery slobber.  YUCK!

Cats really are more elegant and refined, but they need us to help them because over centuries they have become more domesticated.

So, women are NOT the only cat lovers around, but I agree that most men prefer dogs.  If it's because most women are like cats then it must also be that most men are like dogs. Think about it because, in a married household the woman usually is the boss.  In a GOOD marriage anyway.

I have no idea why women prefer cats.  I think it’s because cats purr.  Other than that, cats have practically the same qualities as men—qualities that women loath with their entire being.

Cats stay out late at night and never tell you where they’ve been, they never come when called (unless it pertains to food), and they’re always spitting up globs of gunk that shouldn’t have been able to survive in their digestive system in the first place.

Cats leave hairs all over the place, they bring dead animals home and expect you to be impressed, they disappear whenever work needs to be done, and they take for granted that you’ll clean up their poop because heaven knows they won’t do it themselves.

Women would never marry cats because that’s stupid.  Besides, how would a cat support a family?  On dead birds?  I think not!

Cats do what they want.
They rarely listen to you.
They are totally unpredictable.
When you want to play, they want to be alone.

They expect you to cater to their every whim.
They are moody.
They leave hair everywhere.
They drive you nuts and cost an arm and a leg.
CONCLUSION: They are tiny women in fur coats.

Hmm, women may prefer cats, but a good number of them have dogs. For instance, this dog is, from the looks of it, obviously a woman's pet..
