I have good NEWS for you! ::)

Stem Cell Technology  :o
NEW Break Through Technology for REVERSE AGING!

Adult stem cell technology is dramatically expanding
the horizons of skin care development. This revolution
in the science of youth is made possible because of the
intersection of bio-engineering technology and years of
product formulation expertise.

This breakthrough technology represents the culmination
of decades of research in one of the most important
scientific and medical fields in the last half-century.
The result is an exclusive line of products to help restore
youthful luminosity, firmness, smoothness and elasticity to
the skin. The synergistic combination of the stem cell
technology and natural body processes stimulates the
production of matrix proteins such as collagen and elastin.
This results in the plumping and firming of the skin which
helps to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

More about this NEW REVERSE SKIN AGING TECHNOLOGY,
Visit: http://www.secretofyouthjeunesseglobal.com/

Please pass it on to your friends this good news!

Dili ba kaha ni gikan sa human embryo any mga cell nga gigamit nila.

in a sense, mora gyod, although my understanding is that the sourcing has improved because there are choices.

There are three sources of autologous* adult stem cells:

1) Bone marrow, which requires extraction by harvesting, that is, drilling into bone (typically the femur or iliac crest),

2) Adipose tissue (lipid cells), which requires extraction by liposuction, and

3) Blood, which requires extraction through pheresis, wherein blood is drawn from the donor (similar to a blood donation), passed through a machine that extracts the stem cells and returns other portions of the blood to the donor.

Stem cells can also be taken from umbilical cord blood.

Of all stem cell types, autologous harvesting involves the least risk. By definition, autologous cells are obtained from one's own body, just as one may bank his or her own blood for elective surgical procedures. (wikipedia)

Adjective:
(of cells or tissues) Obtained from the same individual: "autologous bone marrow transplants".

now i'm beginning to wonder how stem cells, which are supposed to be living cells, can be bottled and sold as cream. ???

for one thing, presuming that technology made bottling live cells possible, still it's not autologous.

Highly plastic adult stem cells are routinely used in medical therapies, for example bone marrow transplantation.  Stem cells can now be artificially grown and transformed (differentiated) into specialized cell types with characteristics consistent with cells of various tissues such as muscles or nerves through cell culture.  Embryonic cell lines and autologous embryonic stem cells generated through therapeutic cloning have also been proposed as promising candidates for future therapies.  Research into stem cells grew out of findings by Ernest A. McCulloch and James E. Till at the University of Toronto in the 1960s. (wikipedia)

it can be artificially cultured diay.  well, technology might also make it possible to be bottled and sold as cream, "live".  in which case, it must be very, very expensive because it is not as if this technology is as common as coca-cola bottling.

Dili ba kaha ni gikan sa human embryo any mga cell nga gigamit nila.

There are two sources, Nong Virgil, 1) Adult stem cells and 2) Embryonic stem cells.

The adult stem cell is specialized, whereas the embronic is still unspecialized (pleotrophic pa gehapon).

Kining embryonic stem cell, mao ni gi termahan sa mga geneticists ay "God cell" or "immortal cell".

It can become any cell, and also it has no life expectancy.

Isles, this is correct. What they use for creams are adult stem cells that are the precursor of integumentary cells. These proto-integumentary cells can become melanocyte, collagen cells, keratinocytes, adipocyte, as well as future sebacous glands and epocrine glands as well. Specialized na ni sila.

These are also synthetical produced. Because Medical Science has mapped out the human DNA, we can produce these cells whenever we want and indefinitely. There are, of course, moral and ethical limitations that prevents scientists from going "over the edge". There are , however, who are in the radical group that want to go even further.

There are those amongst us who would say that immortality is attainable through science...

In my 2nd year of medical school, I was involved in a medical genetics research with my professor of medical biochemistry and genetics. The research focused on transplanting rat embryonic cells onto a damaged rat myocardium (heart muscle). The heart muscle tissue (myocardium) had suffered a significant myocardial infarction (heart attack), which is the death of myocardial tissue secondary to a blockage of either the right or left coronary arteries (these arteries supply oxygenated blood to the right heart (right atrium, right ventricle) and the left heart (left atrium and left ventricle). In this particular rat, the left ventricle was severely infarcted; 30% tissue loss. My professor transferred significant rat ebryonic stem cells into the affected left ventricle. After the surgery, we monitored the cardiac and pulmonary performance of the rat. The rat's cardiac output post-surgery was at 60%, but within 5 weeks, the cardiac output was now at 100%. We then sacrificed the rat (medically induced death via potassium Bolus), and we performed a post-mortem examination on the myocadium. We had observed that the damaged left ventricle was reconstituted (it had healed).

The clinical results reiterates theoretical dictum that embryonic stem cells are pleotrophic, pluripotent.

Now, if we could implement this into human medicine, we would have significant medical breakthroughs.

However, there is the moral and ethical line-- do we sacrifice human embryos for salvation of the body?

Isles, many of these creams have in them a synthetic hormone called CSGF (colony stimulating growth factors). These hormones are actually synthetic replicas of endogenous CSGF found in each human person. These hormones are produced by the body in case of healing and growth. These CSGF will entice the growth of damaged melanocyte, keratinocyte , adipocyte, and other cells found within the integumentary system.

That is the answer to your question. :)

it looks like this would take time, like a generation later, as contraceptives took time to become what they are today.  ethics have a way of going with the times.  sad.

If there were no limitations to stem cell usage, many diseases now that affect populations, particulary the terminally ill, would be lifted up from their present physical state. Many patients who suffer from CHF (congestive heart failure), CRF (chronic renal failure), liver failure, pancreatic failure, etc, etc, would be spared their inevetible course.

The use of embryonic stem cells on these patients -- through genetic therapy -- would lead to the repair of their damaged organs, which would lead to the attainment of a balanced/normal physiological function of their body.

Many of the diseases we see now -- in human medicine -- would be annihilated / cured.

But then -- there is the ethical line that prevents us from using human embryonic stem cells.

It is interesting how human opinions work in that regard. There are many physicians who support total stem cell usage, there are also many of us who think the use of human embryonic stem cells is -- unethical.

It is amazing how -- in a group of people trained to use science for the benefit of the body-- are , in the end, influenced by their religious, spiritual upbringing.
