American Christmas Tree Association’s Nationwide Survey Shows Growing Trend in Displaying Multiple Christmas Trees

LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) DECEMBER 10, 2019
Seventy-seven percent of U.S. households, nearly 96 million U.S. households, will display a Christmas tree in their home for the 2019 holiday season, according to the ninth annual Christmas tree survey from the American Christmas Tree Association (ACTA) conducted by Nielsen.
Eighty-one percent of those Christmas trees are artificial and 19 percent are real.
“Once again, we are happy to report that the Christmas tree continues to be a treasured holiday symbol and tradition across the country,” said Jami Warner, Executive Director of ACTA.
“The number of U.S. households displaying more than one Christmas tree has increased by 10 percent over the last five years,” said Warner. “Overall, 16 percent of all American households display more than one Christmas tree. This is a strong indicator that the Christmas tree has become much more than the centerpiece of the holiday, it’s an integral part of the holiday landscape that reaches beyond the living room,” she added.
“With so many Christmas tree choices available, different colors, new lighting technologies, different shapes, species and sizes, it’s so much fun for families to incorporate Christmas trees into other parts of the home and into their outdoor holiday decorations,” Warner said.
“The kind of Christmas tree you have, be it real, artificial, fun or traditional, is a personal preference. What really matters is the people you have surrounding it,” Warner said.
Methodology: American Christmas Tree Association insights are based on data collected by Nielsen through an English Language PanelViews Survey sent to a representative subset of U.S. households in the Homescan Panel; results are projected to represent total U.S. households. The survey was fielded in November 2019.
About ACTA: The American Christmas Tree Association (ACTA) is a non-profit organization established to help families create holiday memories and build traditions by choosing the perfect Christmas tree. Visit ACTA online: https://www.christmastreeassociation.org.
