Facts :

Mr. A is an heir of Pedro who died living nothing, but just a verbal claim that He owns the land they are now living.  B is a neighbor, for some reason only known to him, he was able to secure a tax declaration in his name.  For so many years,he paid it as his own.

Upon the death of Pedro, B visited A and wanted to take possession of the property.  Legal battle ensued. Since no papers can be presented by A, the Court gives credence of ownership to the Official Land receipts presented by claimant B.  B won the case.

Note-This is exception to the rule, because paying another's obligation can not make you an owner.
YOU HAve to establish with facts, not merely allegations that indeed you are the rightful owner of the property you are claiming.
