Shalani is nursing a broken heart. Her being a cohost to Mr. Willie Revillame will be a good start of her healing process. Yes, bring in Mr. James Yap for a happy family reunion.

kuripot ang Bolanon i agree even my wife say that to me.I told her kuripot means money wise..

I know PNOY. Please let's give him the benefit of the doubt. He is loyal to you if you are loyal to him. Loyalty, like honesty, is the best policy.

I know PNOY. He can be very direct, if he wants to, in a very verbous way.

Corazon Aquino and Fidel Ramos are not included in the list. And I am not old enough to experience the Presidency under Manuel Roxas and Diosdado Macapagal.

That's because as far as the author of this thread is concerned, they are among the best presidents the Philippines has ever had.

We are starting to see a deliberate pattern to unduly bismirch the project.

First, a group who called itself Corruption Watch claimed that the bidding was rigged to be awarded to CM Pancho. As it turned out, CM Pancho did not even qualify for evaluation.

Now, a columnist picked up a yarn that the project will be awarded to the highest bidder. We don't know the result of the bidding yet. Will this latest allegation turn out to be another dud? I think so.

All these accusations which turn out to be false diminished the credibility of the accuser and, to a certain degree, of those who repeated them.

Yes, let us continue to be vigilant in monitoring government projects. Let's make sure public money is well spent. But please naman, let's be responsible in what we do so that we will not be likened to the boy who cried wolf.

The Internal Revenue Allotment is based on the total area of the territorial jurisdiction of the local government unit, not on the total area of the parcels of land it owned or registered in its name. In the case of the CVSCAFT/BISU law, what will be diminished is the provincial government's asset (in terms of landholding) but not the the amount of its IRA.

I am happy to share that the construction of the Panglao Bohol International Airport will soon start.

The detailed engineering and design is already awarded to the same consulting firm that designed the NIA 2 (Centennial) terminal.

Construction will start sometime in August 2009.

MIAA General Manger Cusi reaffirmed their commitment to fund the the bulk of the project (Php 3 Billion). DOTC's share (Php 1 Billion +++) is already in its 2009 budget.

Along with the construction of the airport will come the necessary parallel infrastructure projects -- improvement of water supply, improvement of electric power supply, improvement of roads to meet traffic demand, expansion of the bridge connecting Panglao to mainland Bohol.

The continuing operation of the airport in Tagbilaran is no longer feasible for AIR SAFETY reasons. Expanding it would cost more than building at least two international airports.

One of the probable gubernatorial candidates for 2010 is no longer with us. We regret that Atty. Juanito "Nitz" Cambangay has passed away. He was buried today, January 21, 2008 at the Victoria Memorial Park.

He was 60 years old. And even though he opted to retire early as Provincial Planning and Development Officer, he continued to serve as the Governor's consultant on foreign relations/overseas development assistance.

The bulk of the funding for the Panglao Bohol International Airport will be coming from the Manila International Airport Authority. If there will be any funding coming from ATO, it will not be substantial that it will compromise ATO's budget for procurement of navigation equipment or increase its manpower for air traffic controllers.

If it can be established that airports in other provinces (proposed or undergoing construction) may have bleeded ATO's budget for upgrading of aviation safety mechanisms, I will not agree to the reports that the airport project in Bohol could be partly blamed for the debacle.

The village of Boom Boom do not actually lose anything. The road concreting will still come but at a later time, as the newspaper quoted the Governor.

Thank you, Olintaha, for posting R.A. 8974. Everyone concerned should now be properly guided.

The zonal valuation in the barangays where the airport will be located is P20.00/sq m. The law mandates that this zonal valuation should be the FIRST OFFER.

The second offer is higher, at P60.00/sq. m. If this second offer is not accepted, expropriation proceedings will be initiated.

Anybody who is saying the panglao airport will not push through because the government has no money for it  cannot be given credence if he says he can easily negotiate a price of P150-P200 per sq. meter. Walay man kaha'y kwarta ang gobierno, asa man og ibayad ug labaw sa budget alang sa yuta?

Is there hope for those who expect a higher price for those who will opt for an expropriation proceeding? Granting the court will give a higher valuation, they will have to wait for many years before Congress could appropriate the funds. There is also the litigation expenses to contend with. Nothing is free in this world.

In the meantime, the government will just deposit an amount equivalent to P20.00 per square meter and -- whether the land owner likes it or not -- government will start the project.  Why suffer for P20.00 when you can get paid for P60.00 / sq. m. without the hassle?

Mike,

Daghang salamat.

LGU Philippines / Re: Political Dynasty in Bohol
June 23, 2007, 12:49:19 AM

Sovereignty resides in the people.

Daghang salamat.
