bay palihog kug hubad unsay ipasabot aning pinulungang "mabulokon" ug "gitimon"
???

Mabulokon. Colorful man tingali ni, kay bulok is color, see?

Gitimon. Timon is literally steering wheel, or manibela. Gitimon could mean, used as a steering wheel. Pwede pud moderate (v.) as in, Sija ang nagtimon sa diskusyon. Lastly, pwede pud meaning sa gitimon
kay opposite sa gipumbaa. (As in Lion King, yes? He he he. Peace, Vhinz. Hakuna Matata.)

Mao-mao na ni sa giingon ni Mark Twain: If God is what people say there can be no one in the universe so unhappy as He; for He sees unceasingly myriads of His creatures suffering unspeakable miseries--and besides this foresees how they are going to suffer during the remainder of their lives. NYC woman claims Bronx school’s career center didn’t help her find jobs

updated 6:30 a.m. ET Aug. 3, 2009

NEW YORK - A New York City woman who says she can't find a job is suing the college where she earned a bachelor's degree.

Trina Thompson filed a lawsuit last week against Monroe College in Bronx Supreme Court. The 27-year-old is seeking the $70,000 she spent on tuition.

Thompson says she's been unable to find gainful employment since she received her information technology degree in April.

She says the Bronx school's Office of Career Advancement hasn't provided her with the leads and career advice it promises.

Monroe College spokesman Gary Axelbank says Thompson's lawsuit is completely without merit.

The college insists it helps its graduates find jobs.

I'm not quite sure about goal-setting.  My instincts tell me that it's a mediocre person's concern. (I mean, having to seach your soul for a goal, not having one.)

But, yes, without a goal, you can hardly "transform fleeting time into lasting accomplishment." But one caveat: know yourself first before you set a goal. Remember what Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said: "Most people would succeed in small things if they were not troubled with great ambitions."

In this world where information is cheap and education is everyone's prerogative, no excuse may reasonably be offered for ignorance. Being dumb is not charming--even if you're blonde and sexy. Everyone is born with abilities, but without training, from a master or autodidactic or whatever, everything is for naught. As Mark Twain sagely observed,  "Training is everything. The peach was once a bitter almond; cauliflower is nothing but Cabbage with a College Education."

Bay Ben: By definition, the word of God doesn't change. Of course. What changes is man's understanding of God's word. Just as translations need to be updated to cope with linguistic changes and make God speak to us in a language more accessible to us, man's interpretation of God's word likewise evolves. This need for reinterpretation does not make God look fickle; what this does is make man look like the flawed creature that he is, puny yet firm in his resolve to transcend his limitations in his "awful rowing toward God".

Maybe I'm only speaking for myself. Apparently, some guys are comfortable having dumb wives. (Sorry, no offense to wives. There are dumb husbands, too.)

Ha ha ha. Kahinumdom man lang ta ani sa kanta sa elementary nga "I have two hands." Naa ra ba ni version nga ang kamot giilisdan og itlog...

Mao man tingali ni ang combination nga ganahan sa most husbands--submissive but stubborn. Pero mas nindot paminawon kon balihon: stubborn but submissive!

Murag igo ko ani da, kay nagplano ko mag-career shift to teaching next year. Naa man pud tingali ka sa academe Bay Hubag, kay klaro man sa imong reference point.

Seriously, pwede man buhaton ang duha, do and teach. Most fields are susceptible to this formula, though some are more so than others.

He he, actually the academe is one of my frustrations.

Interconnection will open up other economic opportunities that will replace traditional activities. For one, trade and commerce will certainly increase, as prices level out with lower transportation cost.

Kadtong maapektohan will just have to adjust. Unja ang Bohol government, nga mao man diay nangusog ani, should see to it that the project has a viable component for assisting workers and small entrepreneurs who may be displaced thereby.

Inspiration & Hope / Re: What's possible..
August 02, 2009, 11:02:16 AM
Nice post.

But it's not enough to delight in conjuring up possibilities. It's not enough to be imaginative. One has to be unreasonable as well. As George Bernard Shaw said, "A reasonable man adapts himself to his environment. An unreasonable man persists in attempting to adapt his environment to suit himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."

Diha koy colleague in a project kaniadto nga way laing hisgotan kon dili ang ijang sexual conquests, kon pila na kuno ka baje ang ijang napahimuslan. Years later I heard from a common acquaintance that it was all show, kay lahi diay ang ijang sexual orientation!

kanang puwang humay nga nilobok sa alho

Kini healthy jud. Puwang humay is superior to write rice nutrients-wise. Ang paglubok healthy pud. For strong biceps.

In my opinion the prize of a round trip ticket to the US was just a small part of Loida's frustation, the real issue to me was the way the TBTK organizer specifically miss bohol international organization treated her as a beauty queen.

So far in this forum, wa pa ta kabasa og rejoinder from the organizers themselves on this specific issue of Loida's treatment as a beauty queen during her "reign that never was". From all the posts here, it would appear that indeed she was treated shabbily. Maajo unta kon makadungog pud ta sa side sa organizers.

And if no rejoinder is forthcoming, should we on the sidelines (bending over our laptops) put the issue to rest and assume that the organizers are to blame?

(On the other hand, maybe they are just blissfully unaware of the existence of Tubag Bohol....)

infairness sa nag-post nalingaw ko adtog basa hahahaa!

Honestly, makalingaw jud tinuod. And I think dili mabasol ang magbabasa kon malingaw sija. Malingaw man gani ang kadaghanan sa tsismis sa mga panghitabo sa Hollywood nga wa sila kaila personally sa hingtungdan, kana ka kaha nga naa sa atong tugkaran involving people nga atong kaila or likely nga makaila.

Besides, one can always blame human nature. Ambut bitaw, mahimuot ta sa misfortune sa uban--of course, only when we feel that such misfortune is trivial and/or appropriate. Ilabi na seguro kon mahitabo ni sa mga tawo whom we feel little affinity with, or dislike outright. The Germans, of all people, have a word for it: Schadenfreude (Schaden - harm; Freude - joy).

I wonder why in Tagbilaran offices they use “pirmahonon” instead of “pirmahanan” to refer to a document that needs someone’s signature.

Sa case sa "kaon", klaro ang kalainan sa "kan-anan" (eating place) ug "kan-onon" or "kalan-on" (foodstuffs). (Lahi ang "kan-on" kay ang staple man na, either rice or corn sa ato. Or a shortened version of a future verb form, "kaonon", nga naay specified object. Which gives rise to the joke, kon magplano ganig bawon nga kurambos, you say, "Sigi, imong sud-an akong kan-on.")

Sa case sa "laba", ang "labhanan" gigamit for both senses of laundry place and laundry items. Just as mas sakto ang "pirmahanan" for documents to be signed, mas sakto pud tingali ang "labhanan" for clothes (or similar items) to be washed. Yet naay moingon "labhonon", which might be sensible in that the sense is thus differentiated from that of "labhanan", but it sounds awkward to me, just as "pirmahonon" does.
