Jokes and Humor / Male Co-Worker
April 02, 2011, 06:21:37 AM
Every day, a male co-worker walks up very close to a lady standing at the coffee machine, inhales a big breath of air and tells her that her hair smells nice.

After a week of this, she can't stand it anymore and takes her complaint to a supervisor in the personnel department and states that she wants to write a sexual harassment grievance against him.

The Human Resources supervisor is puzzled by this decision and asks, "What's sexually threatening about a co-worker telling you your hair smells nice?"

The woman replies, "It's Keith ........ The dwarf!!!"  ;D

what goes up must come down.  history shows that no power, be it countries or persons, stays forever.  if it takes centuries for a country to develop, so does it take years for it to slide down to decay.  very often, this happens imperceptibly through a long period of time.  in the case of the u.s. of a., it may not happen in our lifetime.

I hope not kay kapoy balhin sa China... gawas ug pugson ko ni Jet Li o di ba ni Jackie Chan ug puyo didto, bwahehehehe  ;D

Here's the latest Baleleng...

Urban flow - Baleleng

BALELENG

Yo mutya ka baleleng ako'y naprapraning
Kapag nakita ako'y naduduling
Palitan ko na kaya may GF Luningning
Pagka't iba talaga ang iyuong dating o baleleng

The first time I saw her thought I could die
Naku d'yos ko day ako'y hinihimatay
Sa ganda ni Baleleng panis ang Bumbay
At ang dating nito'y puwedeng pang Miss Mabuhay

Kaya't everyday ako'y buhay na buhay
Baleleng is like fire she burn my sungay
Kaya ngayon ang buhay ko ay makulay
Coz Baleleng yo is my
I wanna be insane coz my world is full of pain
And when I met Baleleng
Ako'y nagka-insane in the brain

Chorus:

Ako'y kinabahan at nangangatog
Dahil may narinig akong may kumakatok
Ako'y kabang kaba dahil ala-una na ng umaga

When I opened the door ako ay nagulat
Si Baleleng pala wow ang kinis ng balat
Come in pumaok ka baka makakuha ka pa ng
I can't control my feeling at atat na atat

Ako'y humiga tumabi siya sa akin
Para kaming pinagdikit na bituin
Baleleng mahal kita at wala nang iba

Repeat Chorus:

At noong gabing iyon I proposed to Baleleng
Just marry me and I'll give you everything
Do everything show you everything
Just to prove you how much I love you Baleleng

Coz you are the girl the girl that I want
The girl of my type and the girl that I like
And I will do what you like gustuhin ko man
Gagawin ko lahat ng gusto mo

Huwag na lang mawalay sa piling ko
Dahil dahil sa 'yo gumaganda ang buhay ko
Pati ugali ko ay binago mo
O Baleleng ang pag-ibig natin

Is never never ending you know what I'm saying
And I want you to know you're always in my heart
O Baleleng

Repeat Chorus: (3x)

Coda:

I love you Baleleng

the phrase 'aparri to jolo' had always been wrong.  whoever coined that (circa 1950s or 1960s?) didn't think of the northernmost and southernmost small islands that are part of the country.  it should have been batanes to tawi-tawi.  better still, babuyan to sitangkai. ???

Wa pa bayay tricycle sa una, kung di maabot ug habal-habal, aw, di maapil sa listahan sa mga isla hehehehe  ;D

When I was 20 years old (meaning, 31 years ago), I was already told (or even taught) that America was self-destroying, like Rome did in ancient times when it was a world power. I didn't understand then and still can't conceptualize how it will take place... but it's certainly not a foreign thought or idea at all. On the other hand, China had the moniker of being "the sleeping giant." Is it possible that the changing of the guards is already taking place? Who knows...

Discussion GRP on Baleleng

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DILA/message/10069

Folks:

I asked P. Emraida Kiram to provide me with the lyrics of the Tausug love song, Baleleng.  Here below is the first stanza which she tried to translate into Cebuano Visayan but she admits it is incomplete, so perhaps someone out there can help.....

The music of this song is really beautiful. Have you heard it? sung it? Does anyone in DILA know the whole lyrics? Can anyone translate the whole piece into Cebuano Visayan?

bb/carmen

BB:  I only know the first stanza.  I am trying to get the rest of the song from a friend here in Milw who used to sing it during our Karaoke sessions.I am sending this to you, so that I can get rid of the tune in my head.  It seems to be singing itself.  Note:  that the song is To: Leleng   I think by the time the christians got hold of the song, they made it one word: "Baleleng"  - it should be ba Leleng.  As Leleng is the name of the maiden.

Ba Leleng

Pila na ba Leleng layu-layu
Sitangkay ba Leleng pa Sibutu
Bang kasi bunal ba Leleng
Matuyu urul kau ba Leleng pa malayu.

English:
How far is it Leleng
From Sitangkay to Sibutu (these are islands in the Sulu archipelago)
If you really are determined
Then follow me.

Here's another find... you have to see/listen to the video to check dialect used

This is Grace Nono's version of the Sama, Tausug, Yakan, Badjao, Bangingi (Philippine southern ethno-linguistic groups) traditional song "Baleleng." "Leleng" is a term of endearment which means "beloved," or "darling." Throughout history, the Baleleng melody has been recycled to present new situations and stories.

Many versions have been made of this song. (Jakiri 1998) This one uses Grace Nono's original melodic passages and Tagalog lyrics about the Filipino overseas worker. Arrangement and record production is by Bob Aves. Guest vocals is by Taalao Manandao, a Sama traditional artist. Dance is by Nerissa Guevarra.

Video Director: Mark Ocampo
Cinematographer: Julius Villanueva
Editor: Arvin Mancilla

Three College Cajuns

Three Cajuns go down to Mexico to celebrate college graduation. They get drunk, and wake up in jail, only to find that they are to be executed in the morning, though none of them can remember what they did the night before.

The first one, Henri, is strapped in the electric chair, and is asked if he has any last words. He says, "I just graduated from Nichols State in Thibodaux, Louisiana and believe in the almighty power of God to intervene on the behalf of the innocent."

They throw the switch and nothing happens. They all immediately fall to the floor on their knees; beg for Henri’s forgiveness, and release him.

The second, Gaston, is strapped in and gives his last words, "I just graduated from McNeese State in Lake Charles, Louisiana and I believe in the power of justice to intervene on the part of the innocent."

They throw the switch and, again, nothing happens. Again, they all immediately fall to their knees; beg for his forgiveness, and release him.

The last one, Boudreaux, is strapped in and he says, "Well, den, I'm from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette and I just graduated wit ma degree in Electrical Engineering, and I'll tell you right now, you ain't gonna electrocute nobody if you don't plug this ting in."

Matag higayon nga moduaw ang kamingaw
Anaa ikaw uban sa akong paghandum.

2
Ikaw bulan maoy akong kasumbungan
Sa kasubo ug kalipay ning dughan
Ug sa kalit mopahiyom ka
Daw imong hisabtan ang akong gesugid kanimo.

Refrain:
Apan anugon lang
Kay ikaw way kinabuhi
Nga mobati ning tanan
Ug alang niadtong mga higayon
Nga miduyog ka kanako

Salamat na lang, bulan.

I'm no political expert nor an authority on environmental issues to counter reports, almost gobally, as to the magnitude of the risk posed by Japan's nuclear accident, or say, ill-effect of the recent tsunami... but I also suspect (suspect na lang because of a lack for a better word vs. speculation) that all these reports (that's according to my good friend who works at ENTERGY) is focusing so much on the nuclear issues/reports (dangers and all that) that take away the focus from what the Japanese people are really going through right now as a result of the natural disaster that hit them. My dear friend insists (forgive me if I'm not able to explain it like him) if they are not able to contain by now, more Japanese people who live in that area would have been dead by now. He also claimed that it would take that much for a modern nuclear plant to experience leaks or accident, unlike Chernobyl which was a little better than a barn (honest mao nay ilang evaluation! ;D )

And like what Ms. Isles said sa laing thread, this is like a collection of "quotes" from different political analysts or environmental experts interviewed at one point or another and put together in an article (like this Yahoo Report) to meet deadline  ;D

I think the focus should be on the rescue of those who are lost and/or under the rubbles of that massive earthquake and tsunami.  :-[

Bigger than the Beatles

One of my fave songs about love...

BIGGER THAN THE BEATLES

1
He plays guitar at a hotel bar
For out-of-towners and businessmen
He struts and sings to his drum machine
But he won't make it big at the Holiday Inn
But she thinks that he looks like Elvis
When he runs his fingers through that jet black hair
And sometimes she forgets an order
Cause she's so struck by him that she stops and stares

Chorus:
They got a love bigger than the Beatles
Wild and free like the Rolling Stones
They got a love takes 'em higher than the Eagles
Ain't life such a sweet, sweet song
Na na na na na, na na na na na
Na na na, yeah yeah yeah

2
She pours some drinks, loads up the sinks
And dreams of bein' a movie star
Her mama said she'd knock 'em dead
But Hollywood hasn't called so far
But he thinks that she's pretty as a picture
When she wipes down tables in her apron strings
And sometimes he forgets the chorus
Cause she's shining like a beauty on the silver screen

Chorus:
They got a love bigger than the Beatles
Wild and free like the Rolling Stones
They got a love takes 'em higher than the Eagles
Ain't life such a sweet, sweet song
Na na na na na, na na na na na
Na na na, yeah yeah yeah

Bridge:
No you won't find their names on the Walk of Fame
But they ain't missing much
Cause when the lights go down on Tinseltown
All you need is love

Chorus:
They got a love bigger than the Beatles
Wild and free like the Rolling Stones
They got a love takes 'em higher than the Eagles
Ain't life such a sweet, sweet song
Na na na na na, na na na na na
Na na na, yeah yeah yeah

Love is when your mother- in-law told you " I never seen my son cried, not even when his father died whom he loved dearly, but he sits on my couch and cry and says " Mom what if she could not make it ?{That was the time I was in the hospital 24 years ago}...I knew then what real love is.

A true-to-life, este, bigger-than-life love story!!!  ;D
