Wow, gone is "Vox Populi, Vox Dei, the voice of the people is the voice of God. Admittedly, there was a dramatic alteration/transformation in the real meaning of leadership and power.

Too sad, not only our natural resources are denuded but also the morals of our people. To add more insult, we are known as deeply religious.  Hypocrites abound, what else I can say.

How sad if this case proves to be that of a place being lorded over by rich and ambitious hypocrites who, to add insult to injury, enjoy the support of incompetent sycophants.

STEP 5: Stretch. A simple five minute, full-body stretch will give you a natural jumpstart, gently raising your heart rate so that your body feels awake and ready to handle the day’s challenges. In addition, unlike coffee, stretching improves the strength and flexibility of your muscles so that you’ll be more energetic hours, days, and even months down the road. Start by tensing and relaxing the muscles in your feet, then gently rotate each ankle, circling three or four times clockwise and then counter-clockwise to explore your full range of motion. Slowly work your way all the up from your feet to the top of your head, tensing each muscle group for a count of five and then releasing it, and giving every joint a few soft rotations. This should take you about five to seven minutes. When you’re done your whole body will be humming with endorphins, the naturally mood-elevating hormones that your system uses to reward itself for exercising, so you’ll feel great as you head into the next part of your morning routine!

This makes a lot of sense. Think cat.

Questions raised about 'Ardi' as man's ancestor
news.yahoo.com

By MALCOLM RITTER, AP Science Writer Malcolm Ritter, Ap Science Writer â€" Thu May 27, 2:38 pm ET

NEW YORK â€" Last fall, a fossil skeleton named "Ardi" shook up the field of human evolution. Now, some scientists are raising doubts about what exactly the creature from Ethiopia was and what kind of landscape it inhabited.

New critiques question whether Ardi really belongs on the human branch of the evolutionary tree, and whether it really lived in woodlands. That second question has implications for theories about what kind of environment spurred early human evolution.

The new work is being published by the journal Science, which last year declared the original presentation of the 4.4 million-year-old fossil to be the magazine's breakthrough of the year.

Ardi, short for Ardipithecus ramidus, is a million years older than the famous "Lucy" fossil. Last October, it was hailed as a window on early human evolution.

Researchers concluded that "Ardi" walked upright rather than on its knuckles like chimps, for example, and that it lived in woodlands rather than open grasslands. It didn't look much like today's chimps, our closest living relatives, even though it was closer than Lucy to the common ancestor of humans and chimps.

Such questioning isn't unusual; big scientific discoveries are typically greeted that way. Until more scientists can study the fossil and other work can be done, broad consensus may be elusive. The 2003 discovery of diminutive fossil "hobbits" in Indonesia, for example, has spurred a long-running debate about whether the hobbits were a separate species or not.

Tim White of the University of California, Berkeley, one of the scientists who described Ardi last year in Science, said he isn't surprised by this week's debate.

"It was completely expected," he said. "Any time you have something that is as different as Ardi, you're probably going to have it."

Esteban Sarmiento of the Human Evolution Foundation in East Brunswick, N.J., wrote in the new analysis that he's not convinced Ardi belongs on the evolutionary tree branch leading to modern humans.

Instead, he said in an interview, he thinks it came along earlier, before that human branch split off from the ancestors of chimps and gorillas.

Ferndale woman suing after she fell asleep on plane
Thu May 27, 12:30 pm ET
news.yahoo.com

By Janelle Long, WXYZ

A woman from Ferndale, Mich. is suing United Airlines after she was left alone on a plane for hours after it had landed.

Ginger McGuire was aboard a United Express flight from Washington, DC to Philadelphia. She says she fell asleep during the flight. It landed shortly after midnight Tuesday but no one woke her up until a cleaning crew found her four hours later.

United Airlines says they are working with a regional partner carrier to determine why the plane wasn't cleared upon landing.

McGuire told reporters, "I fell asleep on the plane and next thing you know I wake up, it's 4:00 in the morning. Nobody's on the plane. Nothing."

McGuire has hired Geoffrey Fieger who is filing a lawsuit for false imprisonment, emotional distress and negligence.

Frog horde is latest Greek plague
news.yahoo.com
Wed May 26, 6:16 pm ET

An economy on the brink. Horrible pollution. And now a "carpet of frogs" to contend with? Greece sure has it tough these days.

On Wednesday, a horde of frogs caused a two-hour closure on one of Greece's major highways near the city of Thessaloniki. The city's traffic police chief, Giorgos Thanoglou, told the Associated Press that the "millions" of frogs were probably looking for food. Three accidents resulted, as drivers attempted to dodge the hungry hoppers. The AP writes that no human injuries were reported.

Question and Answer / Re: Do you eat frog's legs?

Even Obama eats frog legs
www.conservationbites.com

As the seemingly never-ending media blitz covering our paper describing the massive world trade in frog legs continues, I came across a very poignant example of how ubiquitous the trade in frog legs for human consumption really is.

Even one of the most powerful men in the world eats them. Need we say more?

Here's a basic frog legs recipe:

Crispy Fried Frog Legs

2 to 2 1/2 pounds small frog legs
1/3 cup lemon juice
crushed ice
1/3 cup milk
2 eggs -- separated
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
salt and pepper
2 cups all-purpose flour
vegetable oil for deep frying

Wash frog legs thoroughly. Place in a large bowl; sprinkle with lemon juice, and cover with crushed ice. Refrigerate 1 to 3 hours. In a small bowl, whisk together milk, egg yolks, and 2 teaspoons oil. Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into milk and egg yolk mixture. Sprinkle frog legs with salt and pepper; dip each in milk-egg mixture, then dredge in flour. Heat vegetable oil in a deep-fryer or skillet to 375°. Fry frog legs until golden brown. When you remove the frog legs transfer to paper towels to drain.

Serves 4 to 6.

Unya magkita mo bisan gamay nga kaikog di jud mobati.

Kon naay kwarta dili jud makit-an. Kon mahudtan, moduol na pud unya paluoy-luoy dayon. I hope pasayloon kos Ginoo nga karon sorry na lang, likay-likay jud ko sa taman. Enough is enough. (Maayo ang uban nga taas kunohay og prinsipyo mao nga taas pud kunohay og pailob...)
