Talking about genes, have you heared about gene mutations? We are exposed nowadays with strong chemicals (deo sprays, cosmetics, household detergents) and pollutions that our genes mutates causing sickness or diseases never heared before. This was the result of Charitè hospital in Berlin.
We became easily prone to cancers and tumors, although this is latent in our body most of the time, our immune system gets easily weak that it is easy for these cells to become malignant.

Two priests decided to go to Hawaii on vacation.

They were determined to make this a real vacation by not wearing anything
that would identify them as clergy.
As soon as the plane landed they headed for a store and bought some really
outrageous shorts, shirts, sandals, sunglasses, etc.

The next morning they went to the beach dressed in their "tourist" garb.
They were sitting on beach chairs,

enjoying a drink, the sunshine and the scenery when a "drop dead gorgeous"
blonde in a topless bikini came walking straight towards them.  They
couldn't help but stare.

As the blonde passed them she smiled and said "Good Morning, Father ~ Good
Morning, Father," nodding and addressing each of them individually, then she
passed on by. They were both stunned.  How in the world did she know they
were priests? So the next day, they went back to the store and bought even
more outrageous outfits.

These were so loud you could hear them before you even saw them! Once again,
in their new attire, they settled down in their chairs to enjoy the
sunshine.  After a little while, the same gorgeous blonde, wearing a
different colored topless bikini, taking her sweet time, came walking toward
them. Again she nodded at each of them, and said:

"Good morning, Father ~ Good morning, Father," and started to walk away.

One of the priests couldn't stand it any longer and said, "Just a minute,
young lady."

"Yes, Father?"

"We are priests and proud of it, but I have to know, how in the world do you
know we are priests, dressed as we are?"

She replied, "Father, it's me,............ Sister Kathleen!"

That makes a picture a piece of art, because it depends on the person´s perception how it is registered in his brain. For example the picture of Glace (Cliff), the second one, I slowy scroll and I thought it is a talangka shell, but seeing the whole picture comes the whole view of a cliff.
You are making all  wonderful pictures.

St. Anselm

(1033-1109)

Indifferent toward religion as a young man, Anselm became one of the Church's greatest theologians and leaders. He received the title "Father of Scholasticism" for his attempt to analyze and illumine the truths of faith through the aid of reason.
At 15, Anselm wanted to enter a monastery, but was refused acceptance because of his father's opposition. Twelve years later, after careless disinterest in religion and years of worldly living, he finally fulfilled his desire to be a monk. He entered the monastery of Bec in Normandy, three years later was elected prior and 15 years later was unanimously chosen abbot.

Considered an original and independent thinker, Anselm was admired for his patience, gentleness and teaching skill. Under his leadership, the abbey of Bec became a monastic school, influential in philosophical and theological studies.

During these years, at the community's request, Anselm began publishing his theological works, comparable to those of St. Augustine. His best-known work is the book Cur Deus Homo ("Why God Became Man").

At 60, against his will, Anselm was appointed archbishop of Canterbury in 1093. His appointment was opposed at first by England's King William Rufus and later accepted. Rufus persistently refused to cooperate with efforts to reform the Church.

Anselm finally went into voluntary exile until Rufus died in 1100. He was then recalled to England by Rufus's brother and successor, Henry I. Disagreeing fearlessly with Henry over the king's insistence on investing England's bishops, Anselm spent another three years in exile in Rome.

His care and concern extended to the very poorest people; he opposed the slave trade. Anselm obtained from the national council at Westminster the passage of a resolution prohibiting the sale of human beings.

Since Marcos time, there is a government policy to offer Filipino manpower services abroad, without thinking of the brain drain problem. So you could see how important are the OFW remittances which upheld our economy. Assuming that our government is honest ( no misuse of taxes), the amount is enough to improve infrastructures  and the rest will follow. Taas na jamo subaron. My opinion folks.

This one world, one community is partly a dream come true here in Europe since the borders are lifted for the EU member countries. This will be a next dream of the Pan American countries trying to do the same. I think this is also the aim of ASEAN, immigration within the borders is easy. It is complex to elaborate since it entangles the annoying issues like, human trafficking, smuggling and the like.

Inday Happy,
As your hormone levels rise, your pores production of oil increases, leading to oily skin. In some pregnancies, this new oil slick causes that wonderful "pregnancy glow" that so many women get. But for others, oily skin is just a recipe for disaster on your face. What’s worse, though, is that you may find that those pimples aren’t limited to just your face. In addition to facial acne, you’ve also got body acne during pregnancy.
To help keep your face pimple-free, wash your face two to three times a day with an oil-free mild cleanser. Many natural skin care products avoid both oil and irritating soaps in their products as do some major cosmetic brands. However, be sure that you don’t over cleanse your skin as that can strip your skin of the oil it produces, causing your pores to produce even more oil.
After cleansing, rinse your face thoroughly with lukewarm water so you can be sure to be rid of any type of soap residue that may be left and gently pat dry. Follow this up with an oil-free moisturizer. Other ways to keep your skin looking its best:
Drink lots of water to help keep your skin and your body hydrated and moisturized
Avoid touching your pimples as this can cause the spread of bacteria leading to more pimples
Avoid picking your pimples as this can lead to acne scars
#7534

Envy

The word envy reminds me of the essay I wrote
when I was still a Freshman in College. I'm not
quite sure of my title  whether it was "The Essence
of Envy" or "The Price of Envy". whatever!!!!!
Envy comes from comparing yourself to others
Unhappiness over what you lack is greatly based
on envy. Every person is different in his personality
and innate abilities. Therefore each person has the
potential to serve the Almighty in a unique way
according to his personal abilities and tests. It is
natural for a person to feel envious of others at
some point in his life.
There's a type of envy that is prevalent among
people who are successful in gaining knowledge
or amassing wealth. They want to be number one,
and do not want anyone else to surpass them in
their area of prominence. Competition can cause
much needless pain and suffering. It can lead'
frequently to many serious illness caused by stress
and even early death.
You can overcome competitiveness by not being
overly concerned about comparing yourself with
others, In the long run, what actual differences
does it make to you what others possess or have
accomplished? It is more productive to keep your
focus on your own potential rather than looking at
others. You will gain twofold. You will gain what
you do have and you will not suffer from what some-
one has.
Even in spiritual matters, competitiveness can
cause much harm. Trying to outdo others in strin-
gencies and extremes in order to be the most per-
fect can cause much anxiety and emotional stress.
Such a person tend to belittle others in order to
elevate himself.
Envy is such a part of many people's personalities
that it is not reasonable to expect them to com-
pletely eradicate this trait. Rather, they would
channel it in a positive direction. Let them envy
those with wisdom so they will try to gain more
wisdom.
When a person envies another person's beauty,
physical strength or wealth, he is manifesting a
lack of acceptance of what the Almighty decreed
he should have. One who recognizes that the
Almighty is just and fair does not envy any other
person.
Envy causes harmful physiological reactions. An
envious person always feels sad and miserable.
His mind  is always fill with worry, suffering, and
misery, while the person, being envied enjoy
himself.
Envy comes from follishness and lack of under-
standing. When you are envious of someone, you
do not gain anything and do not cause a loss to
the person you envy. The only person who loses
out is you.

Blessed James Oldo

(1364-1404)

You’ve heard rags-to-riches stories. Today, we celebrate the reverse.
James of Oldo was born in 1364, into a well-to-do family near Milan. He married a woman who, like him, appreciated the comforts that came with wealth. But an outbreak of plague drove James, his wife and their three children out of their home and into the countryside. Despite those precautions, two of his daughters died from the plague, James determined to use whatever time he had left to build up treasures in heaven and to build God’s realm on earth.

He and his wife became Secular Franciscans. James gave up his old lifestyle and did penance for his sins. He cared for a sick priest, who taught him Latin. Upon the death of his wife, James himself became a priest. His house was transformed into a chapel where small groups of people, many of them fellow Secular Franciscans, came for prayer and support. James focused on caring for the sick and for prisoners of war. He died in 1404 after contracting a disease from one of his patients.

James Oldo was beatified in 1933.

St. Bernadette Soubirous

(1844-1879)

Bernadette Soubirous was born in 1844, the first child of an extremely poor miller in the town of Lourdes in southern France. The family was living in the basement of a dilapidated building when on February 11,1858, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette in a cave above the banks of the Gave River near Lourdes. Bernadette, 14 years old, was known as a virtuous girl though a dull student who had not even made her first Holy Communion. In poor health, she had suffered from asthma from an early age.
There were 18 appearances in all, the final one occurring on the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, July 16. Although Bernadette's initial reports provoked skepticism, her daily visions of "the Lady" brought great crowds of the curious. The Lady, Bernadette explained, had instructed her to have a chapel built on the spot of the visions. There the people were to come to wash in and drink of the water of the spring that had welled up from the very spot where Bernadette had been instructed to dig.

According to Bernadette, the Lady of her visions was a girl of 16 or 17 who wore a white robe with a blue sash. Yellow roses covered her feet, a large rosary was on her right arm. In the vision on March 25 she told Bernadette, "I am the Immaculate Conception." It was only when the words were explained to her that Bernadette came to realize who the Lady was.

Few visions have ever undergone the scrutiny that these appearances of the Immaculate Virgin were subject to. Lourdes became one of the most popular Marian shrines in the world, attracting millions of visitors. Miracles were reported at the shrine and in the waters of the spring. After thorough investigation Church authorities confirmed the authenticity of the apparitions in 1862.

During her life Bernadette suffered much. She was hounded by the public as well as by civic officials until at last she was protected in a convent of nuns. Five years later she petitioned to enter the sisters of Notre Dame. After a period of illness she was able to make the journey from Lourdes and enter the novitiate. But within four months of her arrival she was given the last rites of the Church and allowed to profess her vows. She recovered enough to become infirmarian and then sacristan, but chronic health problems persisted. She died on April 16, 1879, at the age of 35.

She was canonized in 1933.

Blessed Peter Gonzalez

(d. 1246)

St. Paul had a conversion experience on the road to Damascus. Many years later, the same proved true for Peter Gonzalez, who triumphantly rode his horse into the Spanish city of Astorga in the 13th century to take up an important post at the cathedral. The animal stumbled and fell, leaving Peter in the mud and onlookers amused.
Humbled, Peter reevaluated his motivations (his bishop-uncle had secured the cathedral post for him) and started down a new path. He became a Dominican priest and proved to be a most effective preacher. He spent much of his time as court chaplain, and attempted to exert positive influence on the behavior of members of the court. After King Ferdinand III and his troops defeated the Moors at Cordoba, Peter was successful in restraining the soldiers from pillaging and persuaded the king to treat the defeated Moors with compassion.

After retiring from the court Peter devoted the remainder of his life to preaching in northwest Spain. He developed a special mission to Spanish and Portuguese seamen. He is the patron of sailors.

Peter Gonzalez died in 1246 and was beatified in 1741.

World Daily News / High-speed sex costly in Norway
April 14, 2009, 01:17:47 AM
A man faces a hefty fine and a driving ban after being caught having sex with his girlfriend while speeding on a motorway in Norway, police have said.

Officers initially trailed the couple's car after noticing it was swerving from side to side and travelling at 33km/h (20mph) over the road's speed limit.

But they soon realised the erratic driving was due to the woman "sitting on the man's lap", a spokesman said.

After filming the exploit for evidence, they pulled them over at a rest area.

The 28-year-old man's punishment will be decided within the next week, but police said he was likely to face a fine of several thousand Norwegian kroner and a lengthy driving ban.

"Why they did it on a highway with such a high risk we don't know," Tor Stein Hagen, a superintendent with Soendre Buskerud Police District, told the AFP news agency.

"[The vehicle] was veering from one side to the other because the woman was sitting on the man's lap while he was driving and doing the act, shall we say," he added.

"He couldn't see much because her back was in the way."

Despite her prominent role in the incident, the 21-year-old woman was permitted by police to drive her lover home.

Have you ever seen a pink dolphin? Me either...but Believe It or Not!, here it is! Charter boat captain Erik Rue, 42, captured this image after the mammal first surfaced in Lake Calcasieu, an inland saltwater estuary, north of the Gulf of Mexico in southwestern USA. He said: "I just happened to see a little pod of dolphins, and I noticed one that was a little lighter. "It was absolutely stunningly pink.” It is actually an albino dolphin. A monk carries a cross during preparations for Easter Sunday in L'Aquila, 12 April.
Easter services were held in many of the 67 tent cities in the Abruzzo region

Hundreds of people made homeless by Monday's earthquake in the Italian city of L'Aquila have attended Easter Mass.

Survivors used a makeshift altar in a giant tent. Similar services are being held in many surrounding villages.

Some 20,000 people are living in camps in the Abruzzo region, where Monday's quake killed at least 294 people.

Pope Benedict XVI sent out greetings to those "suffering from the earthquake" when he celebrated Easter Mass on St Peter's Square in the Vatican.

He also delivered his main "Urbi et Orbi" (To the city and the world) blessing.

It's a really different Easter... Usually I'm with my friends, but here I'm surrounded by tents
Giovanni Diletti, survivor

On Saturday, Pole Benedict offered a special prayer for quake survivors at an Easter eve service in St Peter's Basilica.

The Pope also sent chocolate Easter eggs to victims of the earthquake.

Dear Steve,

Please don´t feel so agitated, I think nobody is assuming that this is an isolated case. Of course, it uncomprehensible for us about the motives of Martin´s killing,  reviewing  the postings here that he  is a good guy.
If I´m a foreigner, I would still love Bohol and invest money here.

There is an alarming rate of binge drinking especially  to  youngsters here in Germany. At a tender age below 15, there is a high rise of wodka drinkers.
Parents are warned to take their responsibility because the numbers is rising in an alarming rate.

It is sad to note that there are more girls who are engaged in binge drinking than boys.

Crusaderfreedom, I know you are hurt that you lost a good friend and you dislike the way the ex-wife behaves. May I say that this is an open Forum, whose tendency is to use the local vernacular of the Bol-anons.
How the members write their feedbacks is a personal choice and their personal opinion. It can not be dictated in what language should it be expressed. It is of course a must,  that decent choice of words be used and politeness is observed.
