Great that you like the video Ate Thel. I always watch it especially when I feel I need to laugh. It's always new to me though I've watched it many times. The video is very Filipino. Maka-relate ta tanan.
I heard a lot about the Amish people kadtong gihostage ang mga bata. Honestly, I want that kind of life. With one exception: Must have an Internet. It's like the movie "The Village."

hahahaha!!
One time i brought with me a bag of fried salted fishes to college, bro. In the weekend, i decided to make a 'Filipino style breakfast'. fried salted fish, with eggs and coffe. Served with croissants. Then out of no where, my house mates (Brian and Don) came out of their rooms and were like, "What the heckkkkk is that nasty smell?!"
LOL.
I had to explain to them what it was; lesson learned from that was not to cook 'exotic' filipino food when they were around. Hahaha.
And when they did smell it, it was too late. I already cooked it, and was already eating kinamot style in the table.

we learn to like what is thrown at us or where we're thrown in, i've learned.
years ago, i cried so hard when my banana republic told me to stop working. i got depressed for a year and was so hot-headed, i became terrible to live with. i was even embarrassed to buy lipstick with money that i believed i didn't earn.
i learned to live with my new situation and began to appreciate the time on my hands. now i could not imagine having to work again, outside of the house as an employee, that is. but you know how it is, like cowboys whose work is never done, housewives' work is just as never-ending.
Oh yes! They say a man's job is from sun to sun,a woman's job never done...
believe me, you have a lot to be thankful for as a working girl. (maybe you just need to fall in love? again? ahem. ssshhhh.)

and let me rephrase my answer, cuj, because i cannot understand anyway why you call your post as rephrasing when you simply repeated that "the child that has been raped and murdered did not get this much attention". (my fault; my answer referred to the rapist-murderer and not the victim.)
my effort at explaining why, as "rephrased" now (and you don't have to believe me): there were no stupid comments for or against her. hypothetically, can you imagine a post that says "what is it about the girl that's interesting that's why she was raped and murdered? (my analysis)", and the post includes unnecessary blabber, like the rapist-murderer is intelligent, he is descended of heroes, etc.? this forum would have been inundated!
and please, help that poor little girl rest in peace by not creating a script for her supposed monologue. the most that we can do now is pray for the eternal repose of her soul and wait for justice to be served. let's not insult her memory by alluding her fate to the fate of those guindulman trees.

Quote from: islander on June 06, 2010, 02:44:57 AMLet me re phrase it,The child that has been raped and murdered did not get this much attention. She probably looking down on us and cry her heart out and if we can hear her she probably would say"the trees are lucky so much people cares and fighting for its justice"...
the reason is simple. no one defended him as noisily and as stupidly. if he's found guilty beyond reasonable doubt, the wheels of justice will grind accordingly. meantime, be glad that there are concerned citizens who care about our environment and heritage.

It appears that the president's mistake was in admitting publicly what ought to be (or is being) pursued quiety. It does not have to be announced that all the resources of a government are fused in a unified vision of national self-interest. The military is a resource that, whether you like it or not, figures in any and all foreign initiatives of a government. One is reminded that it was Frederick the Great who said: "Diplomacy without arms is like music without instruments."

-Lorenzo
(i dedicate this to an old , old friend who i used to talk to when i volunteered at a nursing home)
oh delicate old man who dreams of past
things done
love given
hearts broken
kisses taken
kisses given
i understand your sighs your mourning
your weeping
for your dreams of past
were glory days
on such things that giveth soul
morning haze.
But weep no more o dear old man
for love given
is not love lost
for you see, even if love be unrequitted
even if a heart given falls on deaf ears,
the romance and passion of your past
does not die, but transforms into the spirit
So i say to you, think not of old past failures,
for sure they are not.
And such memories will be with thee
till last breath out.

This progressive town lies on the northwestern coast of Bohol 114.8 kilometers from Tagbilaran City. It was established in 1830. Before that, Talibon was a part of Inabanga.
No records are available to show the origin of the town but old folks claimed that the place got its name from 'talibong,' an ancient spear which they used for mining gold. Later on the letter "g" was dropped so the name Talibon prevailed.
During World War II a guerilla force was organized which took control and authority of Talibon. The force maintained peace and order in the town and restored for a time the normal functions of the municipal government. The then Senator Carlos P. Garcia, later President of the Philippines, acted as their High Adviser. When Japanese soldiers occupied Bohol their first act was to dispatch a patrol to capture Carlos P. Garcia, but he narrowly escaped to Leyte in a sailboat together with his family. Failing to capture Garcia the Japanese soldiers burned the Garcia house and subjected to severe torture volunteer guard Cesario Avergonzado for giving them the wrong direction. That was July 4, 1942.(the provincial government file)

Oil giant BP's share price has fallen nearly 17% to £4.12, its lowest level since March 2009.
The sharp sell-off came as the firm's so-called "top kill" bid failed to plug the massive spill from its leaking well in the Gulf of Mexico.
There are fears the leak will now go on for at least another two months, until relief wells can be drilled.
BP said that the total bill for the clean-up already stood at $990m (£684m) - bbc

The story goes that huggable stand-up comedian Howie Mandel, who ran a carpet business once upon a time, began his show biz career by chance while catching amateur night at the Comedy Store on the L.A. Sunset Strip during a vacation. Goaded on by friends to try out, a producer spotted him, hired him for an appearance on the comedy game show "Make Me Laugh," and the rest is history.
Talk about luck! Born in Toronto, Canada in 1955, Howie became a highly affable performer who quickly graduated to TV talk shows and Vegas gigs. Six years on, the critically-acclaimed "St. Elsewhere" (1982) medical drama not only increased his visibility but earned him Emmy nominations. An affinity for children led him to the Emmy-nominated animated kids' series "Bobby's World" (1990) serving as creator, executive producer and vocal talent. Film stardom has been elusive with silly, bumbling vehicles such as A Fine Mess (1986), Walk Like a Man (1987) and Little Monsters (1989) failing to click with audiences. Kids, however, enjoyed his cuddly voice as Gizmo, in the Gremlins (1984) film series. - imdb.com

Different people have different perception. One man's meat could be another man's poison. A couple bought a donkey from the market. On the way home,a boy commented, "Very stupid. Why neither of them ride on the donkey?"Upon hearing that, the husband let the wife ride on the donkey. He walked besides them. Later, an old man saw it and commented, "The husband is the head of family. How can the wife ride on the donkey while the husband is on foot?" Hearing this, the wife quickly got down and let the husband ride on the donkey.
Further on the way home, they met an old Lady. She commented, "How can the man ride on the donkey but let the wife walk. He is no gentleman." The husband thus quickly asked the wife to join him on the donkey. Then, they met a young man. He commented, "Poor donkey, how can you hold up the weight of two persons. They are cruel to you." Hearing that, the husband and wife immediately climbed down from the donkey and carried it on their shoulders.
It seems to be the only choice left. Later, on a narrow bridge, the donkey was frightened and struggled. They lost their balance and fell into the river.. You can never have everyone praise you, nor will everyone condemn you. Never in the past, not at present, and never will be in the future.
Thus, do not be too bothered by others' words if our conscience is clear...

Thank you.
I am glad that there is someone out there who understands where I come from.
I could not just listen to what these "people" (who live in this forum 24/7) are saying about Guindulman for the most part and accept everything they said. There are always two sides of the story and everyone should listen to both and judge them for themselves.
I am sick and tired of hearing people criticizing Guindulman to the max like they know better or more intelligent than the people that live in that town.
It is okey to criticize us but somebody needs to say hey, what you said are too much and you need to f*** off as it is getting to the point where they are no longer beneficial to the community and they bring things down.
Remember, we have the Tamblot genes in us, Guindulmanons. Hey, I am just saying the fact what I have learned in my Bohol history books.
