Black Pastor jailed for excercising First Amendment rights
by Michele Combs on February 23, 2009

Americans' religious rights and First Amendment rights continue to be eroded as evidenced by the jailing of a black pastor from a Berkeley, California church last week. He was the first person convicted -- two months ago -- under Oakland's law preventing pro-life protesters from coming within 8 feet of anyone entering an abortion clinic.

The Union City pastor, Walter Hoye, received a $1,000 fine, 30 days in jail (although in the future pro-lifers can be actually be put in jail for up to two years) and 3 years' probation. This courageous pastor told the judge: "I believe that an unjust law is no law at all." Pastor Hoye even answered Alameda Superior Court Judge Hing's question of whether or not he would abide by an order to stay 100 yards away from the Oakland abortion clinic with a principled "No."

Pro-life activists called the anti-constitutional Oakland City Council law passed in 2007 an intrusion on their freedom of speech. Pastor Hoye -- as do pro-life demonstrators all over America -- passes out literature outside abortion clinics and sometimes carries a sign saying: "Jesus loves you and your baby. Let us help you!" Pastor Hoye asked women about to kill their unborn babies before they go into the abortion clinics: "May I talk to you about alternatives to the clinic?"

And for these caring actions by a caring pro-life pastor, he is now sentenced to go to jail. The head of the National Black Pro-life Congress said about Pastor Hoye's actions at the abortion clinic: "He never laid hands on anyone," Unless Christians in America wake up soon, their religious rights will be completely eroded.

ANALYZE THIS. JAILED!!!

Canadian device allows deaf to 'hear' music through skin
Wednesday, March 4, 2009 By Charlene Sadler, CBC News

A chair that allows the hearing-impaired to experience music in a new way will be featured at a concert in Toronto designed for deaf people.

The Emoti-Chair is a three-year venture developed at Ryerson University's centre for learning technologies in conjunction with the science of music, auditory research and technology (SMART) lab.

The idea is to treat the skin as a hearing membrane, said Carmen Branje, one of the Ryerson researchers.

Branje, 26, who has a bachelor's degree in computing science and a master's in management science, also plays drums in the Toronto punk rock band Hollywood Swank, one of the groups that will be performing at the concert on Thursday.

David Fourney, a PhD candidate with Ryerson's mechanical engineering program, had the chance to use the Emoti-Chair.

"One of the custom designed tracks â€" we call them 'vibe-tracks' â€" that have been developed for the Emoti-Chair has a trilling sound that feels like someone's fingers are dancing on your back. Its really cool."

Prototypes of the Emoti-Chair will be on display at the event, which will be held at Clinton's Tavern in downtown Toronto.

One chair features 16 speakers embedded along the back and arms to stimulate the user’s tactile senses. Another prototype features 14 speakers but also includes rocking motions that are activated when a certain drum is struck.

In the past, the only ways deaf people could experience music was to feel sound waves passing through them, or to physically press their hands or face to the speaker.

The Emoti-Chair does two things: It breaks the sound frequencies up so that the user feels the piano through one speaker, the guitar through another and so on. It also changes high-frequency sounds into something that is detectable to a deaf person.

Most people are familiar with the pounding sensation that occurs when the bass is turned way up on a speaker. Skin can distinguish between low-level sound frequencies up to about 1,000 Hz, and it can detect frequencies up to 2,000 Hz. However, it's debatable whether a person could distinguish between, say, 1,500 and 2,000 Hz, Branje said.

The human ear can detect between 20 and 20,000 Hz. Anything above that is dog-whistle territory, Branje said.

Luckily, many instruments produce music that falls within the skin-detection range. For instance, the skin can detect three quarters of the sounds produced by a piano. So Branje's team worked with that.

They determined they could compress the frequencies of higher sounds and boost the lower frequencies to allow deaf people to feel sound levels that that might have been aural gaps in the past.
Senior citizens 'hear' classical music

They knew they were on to something when they had senior citizens who were born deaf sit in the chairs and listen to classical music.

"Their first reaction was to conduct, because they knew it was classical music," Branje told CBC News.

Branje sees other applications for the Emoti-Chair, including using it as a teaching tool for deaf children. Kids who have cochlear implants could also sit in the chair and get that much more information.

In addition to the Emoti-Chair, the concert will also feature MusicViz, which was developed by David Fourney, a hearing-impaired PhD candidate in Ryerson's mechanical engineering program.

MusicViz is designed to further enhance the Emoti-Chair by visualizing music though animation and graphics. Colours generated by a software program are synced with individual notes and sounds, then projected on to a screen in a fan-shaped pattern with different hues.

That makes the music experience not just a tactile music experience, but also a visual one.

Ang Chocolate hills is Tableya

Ang "Sagbayan Peak" is Sergs or localized Hersheys.

Everything in Sagbayan Peak is Pirated Stuff:
- The whole concept is duplicate to the original chocolate hills
- It is full of bogus Walt Disney structure
- The Pine Trees made it look like a Western landscape
- It is wrongly named a peak. Tourists seeking for extreme adventure will be frustrated for bringing thier mountain climbing gears

chocolate hills cover the towns of Batuan, Carmen and Sagbayan. is Batuan planning to have their own version of Sagbayan Peak or Chocolate Hills as well? like Batuan Summit? hehehe.

Kini, da bins, mura og naa pa tay makat-onan.

Sexual Horroscope

    ARIES - March 21 to May 20:
There is no perversion you have not tried. Your invitations to have sex often involve firearms or other lethal weapons. You like to beat up your sex partners then brag about it afterward. In a sadomasochistic relationship, you are always the one holding the whip.

    TAURUS - April 20 to May 20:
You are remarkably dull in bed. You strongly favor the Missionary Position. During sex, you huff and you puff and you make it seem like hard work to all involved for the entire 45 seconds it takes you from start to finish, including foreplay. To make up for your deficiencies, you collect hard-core pornography.

    GEMINI - May 11 to June 20:
People like you because you are bisexual. However, all agree that you talk too much during sex. You are known to be cheap and have earned a reputation for stiffing on services rendered. Hookers, therefore, demand payment in advance from you. Geminis are renowned for committing incest. Of all the signs, you are most likely to write, direct, produce or act in hard-core pornography.

    CANCER - June 21 to July 22:
You are a patsy and a sucker and will spread your legs or butthole to anyone with a sad story. You are too weak-minded to say no to anyone asking for anything. This explains why, more often than not, you suffer from venereal disease and unplanned pregnancies. When a friendly stranger waxes nostalgic about the "fish taco" he ate while down in Tijuana, you are naive enough to believe that he really, truly means fried fish wrapped inside a tortilla. In an S&M relationship, you are always the whippee, never the whipper. Most welfare recipients are cancer people.

    LEO - July 23 to Aug. 22:
You consider yourself the dominant partner in a sexual relationship, but others think you are pushy and bossy. They want nothing to do with you unless they have a bad self- esteem problem. Most Leo people are bullies and should stay away from Aries because otherwise fists and whips will fly. If male, you are most probably a wife-beater and should consider marrying a Cancer female. You love to be admired for the large size of your penis, if male. Hookers born in the sign of Leo are likely to steal your wallet. The ideal sex partner for a Leo is a full-length mirror.

    VIRGO - Aug. 23 to Sept. 22:
You are frigid and anal retentive. When you are lucky enough get laid, you spoil it by critiquing your lover`s performance. You are cold and unemotional. You take pride in being able to mentally reconcile your checkbook while having sex. Those born into the sign of Virgo are more likely than anyone else to wear pantihose while having sex if female, or black sox and wingtip shoes if male. Both of you -- male and female alike -- wear your underpants to bed.

    LIBRA - Sept. 23 to Oct. 22:
You like to dress up in costume while having sex. You also enjoy fornicating in public places, while flying cross-country on major comercial airlines, and trying unusual and challenging positions involving farm animals. Your fondest fantasy is to have sex with a space alien. Most Libras, male and female alike, make good prostitutes. All Libras die of venereal disease. If a person, not a Libra, suffers from a venereal disease, most likely he caught it from a Libra.

    SCORPIO - Oct. 23 to Nov. 21:
You will lie, cheat and steal to get laid. You are the ideal partner for a Cancer. Many of the most successful pimps are Scorpios. They get rich by cheating their girls, and videotaping then blackmailing their customers. Most Scorpio people are murdered by their lovers or by irate "Johns."

    SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22 to Dec. 21:
You are the one most likely to have a boner while giving a business presentation in front of a large group of conservatively dressed strangers. You buy "Trojans Extra Large" for your pathetic three-inch winkie. If you aim for your lover`s privates, you will, most likely, miss and end up plunging your tiny little erection into her cat -- to the annoyance of the cat. Since you are the one most likely to recklessly rely on luck as a form of birth control, you are frequently stung by paternity suits. The majority of Sagittarians are drunks or dope fiends, which might explain many of your other problems. People laugh at you a great deal, especially while having sex with you.

    CAPRICORN - Dec. 22 to Jan 19:
You are are more dull and boring than anyone can possibly endure. Develop, therefore, a good relationship with your hand. This should not be considered a tragedy, since you would rather slop around the house in your torn and stained underwear, eating taco chips and watching game shows on television than having sex anyway. If you are a male and your spouse produces a child, it`s not yours.

    AQUARIUS - Jan. 20 to Feb. 19:
Even when sober -- the rarest of events -- you cannot keep your hands from wandering to your best friend`s crotch. If female, you are extremely promiscuous and prone to faking orgasms. It was a male Aquarius who created the line "Of COURSE I`ll respect you in the morning." If you are male, your rubbers tend to break, assuming you bothered to put one on in the first place, probably backwards. If female, you tend to get embarrassingly, repeatedly pregnant because you have never troubled yourself to learn how to take precautions properly.

    PISCES - Feb. 19 to March 20:
You spend many happy hours in drag. You often fantasize youself, Janet Reno, and Kenneth Starr locked in a romantic dogpile inside a White House broom closet. Your greatest fear is that the FBI will videotape you indulging in your secret perversions to play back during a Senate Hearing on Obscenity and Pornography. You are a nebbish and a braggart and often impotent. Pisces people are the ones most likely to turn up in hospital emergency rooms with dead gerbils stuffed into their dank and sunless orifices.

There's nothing wrong with getting flagged down because you do not wear a helmet, after all, it is a national law you are viiolating.

What is wrong is that you have bought a thousand peso helmet because you could save a lot from hospitalization bills, funeral bills, and then you realize you could not find those deputized agents you wished should sustain the drive to raise the bar of road safety here.

I mean, two days they are on the streets and then they disappear only to pop up, (like nasty ads on your page)  exactly two days or a day before the 15th or 30th paydays.

Isnt this a fantastic coincidence? What kind of protection are we talking about here?   ::)

it's just a protection for yourself, that you don't have to bribe the crooks when they flag you down.

The oldest sex manuals in the world are the Chinese 'Handbooks of Sex' written 5,000 years ago by the legendary Yellow Emperor Huang-Ti (2697-2598 B.C.)

Huang-Ti is credited with founding the Chinese nation and under this legendary ruler agriculture and husbandry and the silk clothing industry developed and flourished.

As well as the 'Handbooks of Sex' it is also believed that the 'Tao of Love Coupling' originated from Huang-ti. The Yellow Emperor is said to have had three female sex advisors, the Plain Girl (Su-nui), the Mystery Girl (Shuen-nui) and the Harvest Girl (Tsai-nui), and one male sex doctor, Pong Tsu. Their conversations (Questions & Answers) were compiled into a book entitled Su-Nui Ching, named after Su-nui. This book became the sexual bible and medical guidebook for many generations.

I think this kind of ad is a meaner meat for a big debate. That is one way of promoting their belief. In advertising, the proponent has to observe the pulse response from the public, whether or not their product has gained popularity because of the ad. It would be easier to end their campaign instead of compalining with media coverage. Just let them go and forget it!

this type of Ad is like a cape to a red bull, lay, especially in a community where many are professing believers of the Other--they be christians or muslims or otherwise. there's always another way to promote their stance which would not offend other's sensitivity. if to wave an Ad which point to the core of their belief and disdain it, many don't think this is appropriate.

our claim of the spratly's, or part of it, is legitimate. and in the past years, our government and other ASEAN countries have forged  series of agreements to maintain peace in the region and development of the disputed islands.

Accordingly....

"Southeast Asian countries, concerned that Beijing might be strengthening its claim to much of the South China Sea, called for restraint and strict observance of international law in a high-level meeting with China in January 2000.

On 04 November 2002 the Governments of the Member States of ASEAN and the Government of the People's Republic of China signed the "Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea." The Parties undertook to exercise self-restraint in the conduct of activities in the South China Sea that would complicate or escalate disputes and affect peace and stability including, among others, refraining from action of inhabiting on the presently uninhabited islands, reefs, shoals, cays, and other features and to handle their differences in a constructive manner.

China and the Philippines have discussed possible joint exploration for petroleum in the disputed Spratly Islands in the South China Sea. The speaker of the Philippine House of Representatives, Jose de Venecia, said the chairman of China's parliament, Wu Bannguo, made the proposal 31 August 2003 during talks in Manila. China also pledged to increase investment in the Philippines. Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing vowed to increase investments in the Philippines to match the growing Philippine investment in China. The two ministers also discussed the territorial disputes in the South China Sea.

In September 2003 representatives of the Philippines, China and other claimant countries of the Spratly Islands signed a declaration of peace to promote the development of the resources in the disputed islands. The declaration was signed at the Asian Association of Parliaments for Peace (AAPP) conference in the Philippines.

In March 2005, the national oil companies of China, the Philippines, and Vietnam signed a joint accord to conduct marine seismic experiments in the Spratly Islands for economic purposes.

Suggested confidence-building measures among claimant countries include joint research and development in the Spratlys. Among the suggestions to enhance the development of the Spratly Islands include the creation of a marine park; establishment of a South China Sea Institute for Marine Resources Management, conducting a joint survey and assessment of the mineral and hydrocarbon potential and implementation of maritime safety and surveillance measures.

The Spratly Islands dispute eased since the 1990s. This was due, in part, to China's rising economic stature and the interdependency it, in turn, fostered amongst Asian nations. China knows that any crisis in the South China Sea could severely restrict the commercial shipping traffic that is vital to their continued prosperity. Another contributor to the relative calm is fact that proven oil reserves in the area are disappointingly low." (googled)

Love Talk / Are You Lonely?
March 05, 2009, 02:26:26 AM
One is the loneliness number
Tuesday, March 3, 2009
By Richard Handler CBC News

The other day a woman I hadn't seen in years stopped by my office. "You know my partner died," she said (I didn't). Her partner was a man she didn't live with but, for 30 years, they were intimately connected.

They spoke frequently by phone throughout the day, when she arose in the morning and just before she went to sleep at night. They shared stories, gossip, dreams and jokes and were probably bound up more closely than most married couples.

Then one day, as the obits say, he "suddenly" dropped dead from a heart attack.

"I have never felt such loneliness," this woman told me, even though she had lived alone for years. Now she was aching as if her very soul had been hollowed out. She said she now understood the true meaning of loneliness.
Drifting apart

Being lonely isn't something people tend to admit to. According to Jacqueline Olds and Richard Schwartz, a married team of Harvard Medical School psychiatrists, many of their patients, especially women, come into their offices announcing all their troubles. (Depression? Yup, got it.)

But hardly anyone admits to being simply lonely, say the authors of The Lonely American: Drifting Apart in the Twenty-First Century.

Being lonely is like being in high school and admitting you're a loser, perhaps the most humiliating term in the universe (or at least North America).

Americans live in a land that is obsessed with success â€" social and financial â€" and we Canadians come a pretty close second.

We are not supposed to be lonely. But according to the "loneliness experts," many are and the condition is getting worse. Consider some of the signs.

One of the fastest growing trends in recent decades â€" accelerating since 2000, according to StatsCan â€" has been the rise in single-person households.

In 2006, they represented 26.8 per cent of all households in Canada, 27.1 per cent in the U.S. In 1940, the number was 6.8 and seven per cent, respectively.

Of course, living alone can be a sign of mobility and affluence. People who live alone could be deliriously busy (that's Americans' favourite boast, say Olds and Schwartz).

But being "deliriously busy" can be part of the problem.

As Duke University researchers report, between 1985 and 2004, the number of confidants with whom the average person discussed personal and important matters dropped from three to two.

More importantly, "the number of people who said there was no one with whom they discussed important matters, tripled." Individuals without a single confidant now make up nearly a quarter of those surveyed.

We North Americans may be texting and talking more on our cellphones, but real heart-to-heart conversations appear to be on the decline. Understandable, perhaps: it's hard to spill out your heart in 140 Twittery characters.
Human connection

Now, you might ask, what exactly is loneliness? What makes it different from, say, depression?

Psychologists have argued there is an epidemic of depression in our culture. Maybe lonely people are simply depressed, part of a plague of mood disorders.

Not according to University of Chicago psychologist, John Cacioppo, co-author of Loneliness: Human Nature and the Need for Social Connection.

Cacioppo, who has studied loneliness for 30 years, thinks it's important to make a distinction.

Depression makes you apathetic while lonely people want to "affiliate." They want human connection. Cacioppo defines loneliness as "social pain."

For Cacioppo, loneliness is a warning sign. It "triggers feelings of threat and dread." He even has a shorthand formula for the two conditions: "Loneliness reflects how you feel about your relationships. Depression reflects how you feel, period."
A downward spiral

Unfortunately, lonely people can be their own worst enemies. The research shows that lonely people are socially inept and clumsy. They trip all over themselves trying to escape from their solitary existence.

Lonely people lose the ability to "read" social cues in others. When they fail to connect, they can get more obtuse and aggressive. Other people avoid them, so they grow lonelier. Then they don't understand why they can't connect.

As the song from the band Three Dog Night laments, "One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do."

We've all seen (or felt) such bumbling activity. Psychologists can actually divide up groups of people into Ins and Outs and create lonesome feelings in the lab, proving that disconnection can be manufactured.
The Loneliness Scale

Psychologists even have a test to measure the state of disconnection. It's called the UCLA Loneliness Scale. You can take it yourself.

These are the first three questions:

1.) How often do you feel unhappy doing so many things alone? 2.) How often do you feel you have no one to talk to? 3.) How often do you feel you cannot tolerate being so alone?

According to Cacioppo, loneliness is also a health issue. The immune systems in most lonely people are less robust. Like those who are depressed, lonely people get sicker. They consume more unwholesome foods.

Disconnected people also don't score as well as others on cognitive tests. IQ is probably affected by loneliness.

An unnatural condition

But here's the good news: Cacioppo is part of a new breed of evolutionary psychologists who think loneliness is an unnatural condition. It's a symptom, like physical pain, a signal that something is wrong.

Our ancient ancestors banded together in small, tribal groups. But today we live in cities of millions and don't know our neighbours. We avert our gaze from strangers. You never know who you'll provoke if your eyes meet on a big-city bus.

But there is a hopeful message in all this evolutionary psychology. It is that we humans are not built to be socially isolated.

We are "wired" for connection, say not only the psychologists but the brain scientists.

Properly attuned humans and communities regulate themselves. They form strong social ties, researchers say, which are the keys to lasting happiness.

So when you hear calls for "community" and want to dismiss them as clichés, remember that underneath the whining and cant is an evolutionary imperative. We are not intended to be solitary islands, as the good poet said.

Weird and Extreme / Chimps Use Fishing Rod?

Chimps craft ultimate fishing rod
By Rebecca Morelle (Science reporter, BBC News)

Scientists believe they have solved the mystery of why some chimpanzees are so good at catching termites.

A team working in the Republic of Congo discovered that the chimps are crafting brush-tipped "fishing rods" to scoop the insects out of their nests.

They filmed the wild primates using their teeth to fashion the tools.

Writing in the Royal Society journal Biology Letters, the researchers said the probes' frayed ends helped the chimpanzees to collect more termites.

Lead researcher Crickette Sanz, from the Max Planck Institute of Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, said: "They have invented a way to improve their termite-fishing technique."

Surveillance techniques

Previous studies have suggested that wild chimpanzees use brush-tipped tools to fish for termites.

But until now it has been unclear whether this was a specially crafted design feature or whether the frayed edges were a by-product of repeated tool use.

Using remote cameras to film the chimps as they sought out their insect snacks, the team was able to find an answer.

Dr Sanz told the BBC: "We found that in the Goualougo Triangle in the Republic of Congo, the chimpanzees were modifying their termite-fishing tools with a special brush tip."

To make their rods, the chimps first picked some stems from the Marantaceae plant and plucked off the leaves.

"They then pulled the herb stems through their teeth, which were partially closed, to make the brush and they also attended to the brush by sometimes pulling apart the fibres to make them better at gathering the termites," Dr Sanz added.

Learned skill

Further research revealed that a stem with a frayed tip collected 10 times more termites than a pointed probe.

Dr Sanz said: "The chimps seem to understand the function of the tool and its importance in gathering termites."

So far, the team have only found this behaviour in chimps in the Goualougo Triangle.

The apparent absence of this in populations in eastern and western Africa suggests that it is not an innate skill found in all chimpanzees.

Instead it seems that the Goualougo primates are learning the crafting techniques from other chimps.

The researchers say they now want to find out if chimps in this region are creating any other kinds of tools.

Dr Sanz said: "Large areas of central Africa have been largely unstudied and so there are many populations that could have examples of complex tool use that we just do not know about."

However, she added that further research might be hampered as the species was under threat.

"Just as we are learning about these exciting new complex tool behaviours, the chimps that are showing us these behaviours are under danger from logging, poaching and Ebola," she explained.

"There is a lot we need to do to conserve the chimps in the Congo Basin."

Dr Sanz worked on the paper with Josep Call, also from the Max Planck Institute of Evolutionary Anthropology, and David Morgan from the Wildlife Conservation Society and Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo.

March launch for 'cheapest car'

India's Tata Motors has said its Nano, billed to be the cheapest car in the world, will be launched next month.

The company said the launch would take place on 23 March in Mumbai. It will start taking orders in mid-April.

The basic model is expected to cost about 100,000 rupees ($1,984, £1,393). The car was due to have been launched last year.

But this was delayed after Tata pulled out of its factory in West Bengal in a row over land acquired from farmers.

The "mother plant" for the four-door Nano was relocated to Sanand in Gujarat state, after the authorities there offered about 1,100 acres for the site.

Tata Motors said in a statement that the company was making arrangements for the "widest possible network" to order the car.

The Gujarat plant will initially make 250,000 Nanos a year, rising to 500,000, Tata said last year.

A number of other car firms also plan vehicles to compete with the Nano, which was unveiled in January 2008, but have not yet begun production.

World Daily News / Bionic Eye For The Blind
March 05, 2009, 01:43:51 AM
Bionic eye gives blind man sight

Ron explains how being fitted with a 'bionic eye' has changed his life.

A man who lost his sight 30 years ago says he can now see flashes of light after being fitted with a bionic eye.

Ron, 73, had the experimental surgery seven months ago at London's Moorfield's eye hospital.

He says he can now follow white lines on the road, and even sort socks, using the bionic eye, known as Argus II.

It uses a camera and video processor mounted on sunglasses to send captured images wirelessly to a tiny receiver on the outside of the eye.

In turn, the receiver passes on the data via a tiny cable to an array of electrodes which sit on the retina - the layer of specialised cells that normally respond to light found at the back of the eye.

When these electrodes are stimulated they send messages along the optic nerve to the brain, which is able to perceive patterns of light and dark spots corresponding to which electrodes have been stimulated.

The hope is that patients will learn to interpret the visual patterns produced into meaningful images.

The bionic eye has been developed by US company Second Sight. So far 18 patients across the world, including three at Moorfields, have been fitted with the device.

It is designed to help people, like Ron, who have been made blind through retinitis pigmentosa, a group of inherited eye diseases that cause degeneration of the retina.

The disease progresses over a number of years, normally after people have been diagnosed when they are children.

It is estimated between 20,000 to 25,000 are affected in the UK.

Encouraging progress

Ron, who has not revealed his surname, told the BBC: "For 30 years I've seen absolutely nothing at all, it's all been black, but now light is coming through. Suddenly to be able to see light again is truly wonderful.

"I can actually sort out white socks, grey socks and black socks."

"My one ambition at the moment is to be able to go out on a nice, clear evening and be able to pick up the moon."

Ron's wife Tracy is also hugely encouraged by the progress he has made.

She said: "He can do a lot more now than he could before, doing the washing, being able to tell white from a coloured item.

"I've taught him how to use the washing machine and away he goes. It's just the ironing next."

Consultant retinal surgeon Lyndon da Cruz, who carried out Ron's operation said the patients were starting to get meaningful visual stimuli from the technology.

He said: "We are very encouraged by the trial's progress so far.

"The implants have been stable and functioning for six months, with consistent visual perceptions generated by the device.

"The trial remains inspiring in terms of presenting a very real and tangible step forward in treating patients with total vision loss.

"But with more than two years of the trial left to run, these are early days and continued testing will be crucial in determining the success of the new technology."

Gregoire Cosendai, of Second Sight, is convinced the technology will prove to be invaluable - but also admits there is still much work to be done.

He said: "We are trying to see what level of vision we can provide with this.

"Theoretically, the people should be able to have reasonably good level of vision.

"We are not there yet, but what we are trying to see how best they can use it in their normal life."

Kanang pung nga; "daw be ug kabalo" diha nako mahibaw-i sa Cagayan.

nakalaag ra kos CDO bay, WN. unya ako mga igsoon tua na pod namuyo, so, nakasundog ko usahay sa ilang sinultian.

kini bitawng mga butanga, bay WN, it's like a red cape to a bull. kawatonon tungod sa ilang value.

it's not just the Chinese who claims part of the spratly's. the vietnam, burma and thailand too. why they just don't make it an international collaboration to develop what's in there?
