Bible Study / Prayer for the Gift of Prudence
May 15, 2013, 05:24:01 PM
Prayer for the Gift of Prudence

Jesus, artful Master of Parables,
Your prudence eluded the hypocrites.
Your actions were known before creation,
Displaying all the wisdom of Your prudence.
Eternity must have attended to minutia.
Being prudent in Your best interest,
You considered all potential consequences,
Securing the outcome of Your earthly life.
Grant me the prudence to always be cautious
And sensitive to the basic needs of others.
Jesus, You have shown great foresight,
Prudence truly originates from Your Being.

Bible Study / Prayer for Grace
May 15, 2013, 05:22:09 PM
O my God and my all,
in Thy goodness and mercy,
grant that before I die
I may regain all the graces
which I have lost through my carelessness and folly.

Permit me to attain the degree of merit and perfection
to which Thou didst desire to lead me,
and which I failed by my unfaithfulness to reach.

Mercifully grant also that others regain the graces
which they have lost through my fault.
This I humbly beg through the merits
of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
and Immaculate Virgin Mary.

Amen.

Bible Study / Prayer before any Good Works
May 15, 2013, 05:19:41 PM
(Whatsoever you do in word or in work, do all in
the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

[Col. 3:17])

O Jesus, sweet Jesus, O Jesus divine,
My life and my death unto Thee I resign.
Every action of mine shall Thy patronage claim;
For whatever I do shall be done in Thy name.

(Renew your good intention frequently during the
day and especially as the beginning
of any important work or duty by some short
ejaculatory prayer, for example:)

All in the name of Jesus.

All for the glory of God.

All for Jesus.

All for the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the immaculate
heart of Mary.

In the name of the Father, +
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Ghost.

Amen.

Come Holy Spirit,
enlighten my mind and direct my will,
that I may do what is pleasing to Thee
and conductive to my salvation.

O Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ and Mother of priests, accept this title which we bestow on you to celebrate your motherhood and to contemplate with you the Priesthood of your Son and of your sons, O Holy Mother of God.

O Mother of Christ, to the Messiah-Priest you gave a body of flesh through the anointing of the Holy Spirit for the salvation of the poor and the contrite of heart; guard priests in your heart and in the Church, O Mother of the Saviour.

O Mother of Faith, you accompanied to the Temple the Son of Man, the fulfillment of the promises given to the fathers; give to the Father for his glory the priests of your Son, O Ark of the Covenant. O Mother of the Church, in the midst of the disciples in the Upper Room you prayed to the Spirit for the new People and their Shepherds; obtain for the Order of Presbyters a full measure of gifts, O Queen of the Apostles.

O Mother of Jesus Christ, you were with Him at the beginning of his life and mission, you sought the Master among the crowd, you stood beside him when he was lifted up from the earth consumed as the one eternal sacrifice and you had John, your son, near at hand; accept from the beginning those who have been called, protect their growth, in their life ministry accompany your sons, O Mother of Priests.

Amen.

O Lord, my God,
Creator and Ruler of the universe,
it is Your Will that human beings accept the duty of work.
May the work I do bring growth in this life to me
and those I love and help to extend the Kingdom of Christ.
Give all persons work that draws them to You
and to each other in cheerful service.
I unite all my work with the Sacrifice of Jesus
in the Mass that it may be pleasing to You and give You
glory.

I beg Your Blessing upon all my efforts.
With Saint Joseph as my example and guide,
help me to do the work You have asked
and come to the reward You have prepared.

Amen

Bible Study / Re: The Summons
May 15, 2013, 05:09:13 PM
1. Will you come and follow me
If I but call your name?
Will you go where you don’t know
And never be the same?
Will you let my love be shown,
Will you let my name be known,
Will you let my life be grown
In you and you in me?

2. Will you leave yourself behind
If I but call your name?
Will you care for cruel and kind
And never be the same?
Will you risk the hostile stare
Should your life attract or scare?
Will you let me answer pray’r
In you and you in me?

3. Will you let the blinded see
If I but call your name?
Will you set the pris’ners free
And never be the same?
Will you kiss the leper clean,
And do such as this unseen,
And admit to what I mean
In you and you in me?

4. Will you love the ‘you’ you hide
If I but call your name?
Will you quell the fear inside
And never be the same?
Will you use the faith you’ve found
To reshape the world around,
Through my sight and touch and sound
In you and you in me?

5. Lord, your summons echoes true
When you but call my name.
Let me turn and follow you
And never be the same.
In your company I’ll go
Where your love and footsteps show.
Thus I’ll move and live and grow
In you and you in me.

I will come to you in the silence
I will lift you from all your fear
You will hear My voice
I claim you as My choice
Be still, and know I am near

I am hope for all who are hopeless
I am eyes for all who long to see
In the shadows of the night,
I will be your light
Come and rest in Me

Chorus:
Do not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mine

I am strength for all the despairing
Healing for the ones who dwell in shame

All the blind will see, the lame will all run free
And all will know My name

Chorus:
Do not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mine

I am the Word that leads all to freedom
I am the peace the world cannot give
I will call your name, embracing all your pain
Stand up, now, walk, and live

Chorus:
Do not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mine

This diagram is an example of a type of chart known by systems analysts as a state transition diagram. Each colored elliptical bubble represents a state of being that represents the way you are now. The labels on the arrows represent actions or events and the arrows show paths into or out of each state. You are at one place on this chart for one particular relationship or incident at any particular time. Other people are likely to be in other places on the chart. This is similar to an ordinary road map where you plot where you are now, while other people are at other places on the same map. Begin the analysis at the green “OK” bubble, or wherever else you believe you are now.

Inspiration & Hope / Re: How to Cope With Insults
May 14, 2013, 12:46:12 AM
8. Prepare to Forgive! Don't let the insults eat away at you. In future, the person may genuinely regret insulting you, so it's best not to close your mind to the possibility. At the same time, don't let the other person think that you'll just keep forgiving them.

Inspiration & Hope / Re: How to Cope With Insults

7.  Move On! The more you're insulted, and the more regularly you deal with it, the easier it becomes. Eventually, the other person should get the hint and leave you alone. If they are threatening you, be prepared to stand up for yourself, and tell them you are insulted.

6. Talk to Friends! Talk to a friend or close family member. Do anything that will give your self-confidence a boost! You need fortification against the insult and its effects.

5.  Don't Listen! Don't listen to the insults, and try not to let them reach you. When somebody starts an insult spate, it's best just to try and block your ears, no matter how hard this may seem.

4. Stay away from the person! Avoid contact if possible.

Inspiration & Hope / Re: How to Cope With Insults
May 14, 2013, 12:45:05 AM
3.  Walk Away! Walk away from the person. If they follow, find a crowded area, to deter the conflict from becoming physical. Do be prepared to stand up for yourself if you seriously feel insulted, and you're absolutely sure that's how it was meant.

Inspiration & Hope / Re: How to Cope With Insults

2. Be Unphased! If Step 1 didn't prevent you getting insulted, the best thing to do is not to react. If the person who attempted an insult sees you're unphased, they're less likely to continue.

Inspiration & Hope / Re: How to Cope With Insults

1.  Deter Insults! Try not to look shy, or nervous. If necessary, try the 'Chest out, shoulders back' approach. People are more likely to bully somebody who doesn't look like they've got the guts to stand up for themselves.

Bible Study / Novena for St. Francis de Sales
May 13, 2013, 01:00:14 AM

O Blessed Francis de Sales, who in your mortal life did excel in all virtues, especially in love of God and of neighbor, I earnestly entreat you to take me under your immediate protection, to obtain from God my perfect conversion, and that of all sinners, especially of (the names of persons for whom you wish to pray should be mentioned here). Teach me, O Father, to fix my eyes on heaven, that I may generously trample under foot every obstacle that presents itself in my way, and attain that degree of glory which you in your mercy hold out to me. Obtain also that particular favor for which I now pray. (mention intention)

Assist us, O Lord, we beseech you, through the merits of St. Francis de Sales. That what our endeavors cannot obtain may be given us by his intercession. Let us pray: O God, who for the salvation of souls, did will that St. Francis de Sales, your confessor and bishop, should become all things to all men and women, mercifully grant that we, infused with the gentleness of his charity, guided by his teachings, and sharing in his merits, may obtain eternal happiness. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

NOVENA TO SAINT GABRIEL THE ARCHANGEL

Saint Gabriel the Archangel, I venerate you as the Angel of the Incarnation, because God specially appointed you to bear the messages concerning the God-Man to Daniel, Zechariah, and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Give me a very tender and devoted love for the Incarnate Word and his Blessed Mother, more like your own.

I venerate you also as the “Strength from God”, because you are the giver of God’s strength, consoler and comforter chosen to strengthen God’s faithful and teach them important truths. I ask for the grace of a special power of the will to strive for holiness of life. Steady my resolutions; renew my courage; comfort and console me in the problems, trials and sufferings of daily living, as you consoled our Savior in his agony and Mary in her sorrows and Joseph in his trials. I put my confidence in you.

Saint Gabriel, I ask you especially for this favor: (mention your request). Through your earnest love for the Son of God made man and for his Blessed Mother, I beg of you, intercede for me that my request may be granted, if it be God’s holy will.

Pray for us, Saint Gabriel the Archangel. That we may be worthy of the promises of Christ.

Say this novena nine times in a row for nine days in a row.

Super Star Destroyer

Super Star Destroyer (SSD) was a term used by Imperial, Rebel, New Republic and Galactic Alliance personnel for many dagger-shaped warship classes larger than Star Destroyers, ranging from Star Cruiser to Star Dreadnought models. In extreme cases, they are also large enough to be qualified as space stations.

It was often used concurrently with the term Super-class Star Destroyer, both of which capitalized on the general "Star Destroyer" term, which, after getting popular exposure throughout the Clone Wars, came to symbolize weapons that in people's minds could destroy entire star systems.

Darth Vader's command ship, the Executor, was a Super Star Destroyer and one of the most famous Imperial vessels fielded, as was the even deadlier Eclipse, which served as one of Emperor Palpatine's flagships.

The term "Super Star Destroyer" was used to describe some of the largest warships ever designed and fielded and covered various warship classes that served primarily as command ships. All the known models were at least several kilometers in size in order to support their increasingly heavy power generators and armaments. In at least one ship classification system, SSDs were regarded as large enough to be counted as space stations rather than regular starships.

Super Star Destroyers were on par with or larger than most other navies' ships-of-the-line, like the Trade Federation's Lucrehulk-class battleships or the Subjugator-class heavy cruisers of the CIS. As command ships, SSDs like the Executor-class were capable of projecting power across entire Oversectors and served as command ships for galaxy-spanning campaigns. They were good expressions of the Tarkin Doctrine, which argued that galactic peace could be achieved by developing the ability to project overwhelming firepower against any enemy, rendering all resistance futile before it even began.

#5949
Interdictor-class Star Destroyer

The Interdictor-class Star Destroyer was a variant of the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer equipped with gravity well projectors.

Sienar Fleet Systems already produced an Interdictor, the Immobilizer 418 cruiser based on a 600 m Vindicator-class heavy cruiser (also used for the Enforcer-class picket cruiser). Though it was decently armed for its size, it was a high priority vessel that was generally unable to hold its own in combat, especially if the battle involved Imperial Star Destroyers and comparable vessels.

The Interdictor-class Star Destroyer did not require additional support when performing patrol and customs duties. Some bold commanders such as Loka Hask even used the ship to pull armed convoys out of hyperspace and destroy them.

Imperator II/Imperial II-class Star Destroyer

The Imperial II-class was fielded years after the first model, with some cosmetic differences. It became the norm for the Imperial Navy, with some Imperial Is retrofitted to be more similar to the second generation.

#5951
Imperial-class Star Destroyer

The Imperial-class consisted of several Star Destroyer models built by Kuat Drive Yards over several decades.
Imperator/Imperial I-class Star Destroyer

The 1,600 meter long Imperator-class was created early on in the Clone Wars, but only saw widespread deployment after the rise of the Galactic Empire. Following the Jedi Purge, the class was renamed to Imperial, but the original name was used in some official documents. It came to symbolize the tyranny of Imperial rule and was used throughout the galaxy for many decades, even long after the fall of the Empire and the establishment of both the New Republic and later the Galactic Alliance, who appropriated many vessels and used them in their own navies.

#5952
Star Destroyer

was a term used to describe both a certain type of medium-sized capital shipused by the Galactic Republic, the Galactic Empire, the New Republic, the Imperial Remnant, the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, the Alliance-in-exile, the Fel Empire and Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire, as well as heavily armed warships in general.

The term originated with the idea of a warship powerful enough to destroy entire star systems, and did not necessarily indicate a destroyer type vessel. Despite this, Star Destroyers were sometimes referred to as destroyers themselves. One such Star Destroyer was the Venator-class Star Destroyer of the Galactic Republic. In the Anaxes War College System, any warship that was between 1 and 2 kilometers in length qualifies as a Star Destroyer, excepting cases where the vessel, despite its length matching that of a heavy cruiser or battlecruiser, had less or more armaments than their class or role. Examples include the 900m Victory-series of Star Destroyer and the 2.2km Secutor-class Star Destroyer.

He is so special to me, Anna. The very reason why I went back to Philippines in 2010 was to see him. When I arrived in Philippines, first day ning abot ko sa Tagbilaran, i even told my father's side of the family that i will see them later. My first priority was to visit my Lolo in Valencia.

Valencia is Valencia for me because of my Lolo....

Mo ingon siya nako everytime I call, "Ondoy Bran Bran....how i miss you, Ondoy..."

Hilak na jud ko. he he he. Unsaon man lageh...Lolo...

me too but sadly, he passed away in 2006 and i regret not saying thank you to everything that he did for me. i grew up as a spoiled brat because of him so maybe its the reason why I was so ungrateful towards him :( abi tawn nako nga natural ra ning mu-spoil cya nako

This is the reason why I want to visit him soon and to be around him. I love him kaayo, anna. Lolo ciano was like a father to me when I was a child. Kalingaw ko mo hilak if mo trabaho sija kai gusto ko mo uban nija kalingaw, pero dili pwede kai bus driver man si lolo sa ijang truck line. Mo trabaho sija sa buntag and by the time i woke up, he was already up and about.

I remember one morning (it was a saturday), i woke up and i ran down the stairs to put my chinelas on to catch Lolo. Pero, lo and behold, his truck already left our drive way. Ning hilak ko. Ingon ko ni lola nating, "asa man is lolo, lola? ingon ko niya gusto ko mo uban niya, ngano wa man sija ning huwat nako?!"

ingon si lola, "doy bran, ning larga na man si lolo. gusto to sija mo huwat nimo, pero naka kita sija nimo ning tulug pa man gud ka, doy...."

aba...hilak ko, suko ko.

Sa gabi, ning uli na si lolo ciano, he tried to embrace me pero i was still angry at him for not waiting for me. ingon sija nako, "ngano na suko man ka, doy?"

i dont know, when he said that i started to cry and i ran to him to embrace him.

back in 2003, when lolo ciano came to live with us in usa, that night when i sat up with him to talk to him, he told me that story. he remembered event when na suko ko niya. we both cried because ...because we really missed each other. And i love him.

As i write this, i am crying.

I miss my beloved grandfather. I am longing to hear his voice again, to embrace him and hold him again. To be able to laugh with him and joke around. I think its time I go back to Bohol for another family visit. This time, I want to bring my brothers and sister with me. Maluuy ang Ginoo, Pohon.

Today, the memory of my beloved Lola Nating flooded my mind as I was going to work. I miss her, I miss the sublime motherly love she showered on me and my sister and my cousins when we were still little kids. As a child growing up, both my parents were abroad (my father in Saudi Arabia, and my mother in the United States), the only constant in my early years was the presence of my Lola Nating and my Lolo Ciano. I can't help but cry when I think of her , beautiful thoughts and memories of yesteryears, her voice comes back and I can hear her again. I miss you, Lola. I look forward to the day that I will see you again in Heaven.

A picture that is worth a thousand words,
a grandmother's love,

About this we have much to say, and it is difficult to explain, for you have become sluggish in hearing. Although you should be teachers by this time, you need to have someone teach you again the basic elements of the utterances of God. You need milk, (and) not solid food. Everyone who lives on milk lacks experience of the word of righteousness, for he is a child. But solid food is for the mature, for those whose faculties are trained by practice to discern good and evil.
